I Can't Accept Corruption (1997)
Synopsis
I Can't Accept Corruption features a team of anti-corruption unit under the leadership of a brilliant chief inspection officer Yip Kwok Ying (Monica Chan). Yip leads a team of elite officers including the experienced senior inspection officer Lim Chi Kong (Cheung Siu Fai); and four other university fresh graduates who are eager to be in the anti-corruption bureau, Fong Cheuk Man (Koo Tin Lok), forthright Kan Ming Fai(Fanny Yuen); Law Ka Kit (Ho Po San) who is an orphan as well as the kind-hearted Lau Chi Shan (Cheung Yuk Shan) were also members of the team. They determine to fight against corruption and uphold the justice of society. This action-packed drama documents the operation methods of the ICAC to solve intrigue briberies. Ep. 1: Episode 1
CHI KONG was being attacked on the way he accompanied WING KIT whom was shot and in a coma. Before he was unconscious, he spoke out a word `PASS' which became the only clue. KONG did not have enough evidence but let FOOK SIN go. YING got the password successfully. Though SIN had damaged the computer record, YING still could charge him because of her intelligence. After KIT had known that he had an interview with ICAC, he resigned from the post in fast food store. KIT and MAN went for the interview and met their antagonist FAI. MAN played tricks on her. In order to get an interview sheet for PONG easily, LUNG asked TAK to toady SING. MAN tried to hide the truth from LAN as he understood that she disliked him joining the discipline force. However, LAN did not object which MAN felt grateful. When everybody celebrated for MAN, there was a fire.

Ep. 2: Episode 2
On the spot, MAN found KWAN and LAN. KONG also got the way out and everybody could escape. MAN failed to get in again and save PING. At last, the firemen saved her. PONG tried to run away while everybody was waiting for PING. KONG chased after him whose conscience was moved and said that he had given SING some money. ICAC looked over SING day and night. One day, he met LUNG. LUNG hurt KONG so as to get away them. YING pretended that she didn't care about KONG's injury in front of her colleagues. However, she received him from the hospital and showed her concern to him. MING complained that his old store which was burnt was mainly due to KONG's inappropriate act. SING requested LUNG to help him leaving Hong Kong. SING fell from the roof and died when they struggled. TAK comforted LUNG not to be so worried as there was no clear evidence. MAN, KIT and FAI went into a camp for training……

Ep. 3: Episode 3
Everyone was late for lesson and very untidy. POK was very angry and punished them. During the outdoor training, MAN again played tricks on FAI who deliberately threw a red ball far away. FAI insisted to get it and won. POK was disappointed after recognizing most of them ate canned food. KONG persuaded KWUN to be their witness in order to set LUNG up. KONG invited YING for dinner but she had another appointment. However, it was cancelled and she met KONG at a convenient store. KONG revealed his love to her. YING's friend encouraged her to accept. MAN, KIT and FAI received research training but they were very careless. POK was disappointed. ICAC found that LUNG had several banking accounts and transferred his money among them frequently so as to hinder their investigation. KONG was waiting his opportunity but LUNG escaped.

Ep. 4: Episode 4
POK's training was very harsh. Most of the trainees were being blamed and felt depressed. PING always took care of SHAN in order to get a favorable impression. FAI admired KIT's elegance very much and MAN also admitted that he liked SHAN. LUNG and TAK of Fire Department often won the Mark-six which aroused KONG's suspicion. Under investigation, they discovered LUNG had bribed a Mark-six registration clerk. He bought the tickets from winners and helped them laundering money. MEN decided to return to her mum after knowing LUNG was arrested. They quarrelled, MEN was knocked against a wall and miscarried. LUNG was so sad that he committed suicide. He was sent to hospital and in danger. TAK had left for Macau, KONG chased after him immediately. However, he was almost knocked down by TAK's car.

Ep. 5: Episode 5
After a long chase, KONG caught TAK. TAK had used his identity of being a Thai Chinese to travel between Hong Kong and Thailand and deposited money into Thailand bank. With sufficient evidence, he was sent to prison. SHAN's notebook was stolen by CHING in a restaurant. They went to the police station and it was found that CHING was POK's daughter. SHAN was punished and dismissed. The matter was being put onto the Internet which POK thought it was done by SHAN. He intended to send her away. FAI was discontented and left with SHAN. After the case of Fire Department was finished, KONG was busy to investigate a case about purchase of buildings by property developer. KWAN and NAR pretended to be buyers and contacted the security supervisor in order to get more information.

Ep. 6: Episode 6
FAI supported SHAN and was scolded by POK. FAI and SHAN decided to resign while MAN and others dissuaded them from doing so. In fact, it was MAN who wrote anonymous letter. At the same time, POK also realized MAN spread out the rumour. MAN understood that he had made troubles and promised to clarify everything. POK asked SHAN and FAI to stay. SHAN sent a watch to MAN. YING WAH thought YUEN would distribute money through playing mahjong but it wasn't. YING's father was running out from the oldies home secretly, luckily he was found. SHAN overcame the fear and could graduate with her classmates. ICAC discovered YUEN had stolen and copied some documents. When they tried to catch him, he suddenly grasped NAR and pierced her.

Ep. 7: Episode 7
At last, YUEN was brought under control and admitted that he had copied the draw but it didn't affect the result. YING's attitude towards her subordinates was better than before and everyone believed she was in love. Ka Hing Property Agent owned by an out-dated movie star YEE had a great chance in draw lots of purchase of property. YING doubted and investigated. After graduation, MAN and FAI were assigned into one group and worked together. KONG had left the documents at home. MING and MUI misunderstood KONG and went to Ka Hing Property Agent. Being persuaded by a staff YUK, they paid the deposit. Their photo was being taken and put into the ICAC report. KONG was surprised.

Ep. 8: Episode 8
KONG convinced MING not to have any deal with the Agent. Although MING claimed that he would not be moved, KONG was uneasy. He and MUI went to examine the flat and recognized that there was somebody died before. YUK was dismissed by YEE. If MING did not buy the flat, he would lose the deposit. YING looked over the process of the draw but there was no fault shown. During the act of pursuit, the suspect fell from the roof. SHAN was very frightened and fainted. KIT had rejected FAI's appointment as he needed to look after SHAN. FAI felt distasteful. YEE had a very close relationship with KWONG while on the other hand her behavior towards TUNG a computer technician was intimate. TUNG found that YEE was strange and followed her to a villa. He saw KWONG had driven his car there.

Ep. 9: Episode 9
After realizing TUNG had come to the villa, KWONG arranged YEE to leave. TUNG thought that he might be over-suspicious and continued to trust YEE. KWONG and YEE depended very much on TUNG's computer knowledge. He entered the customer number of those being drawn into the computer. Although KWONG was clever, he was arrested in another draw lots. YEE was afraid of telling the truth and claimed that she had borne TUNG's child. TUNG was willing to take in everything. KIT expressed to FAI that they were friends only, FAI was unhappy. ICAC found out YEE's medical report was false. TUNG knew the truth and pierced YEE with a knife.

Ep. 10: Episode 10
TUNG was mad. He grasped YEE with a knife and confronted with others. KONG deliberately slowed up and suggested MAN to approach him. TUNG got crazy suddenly. MAN and others caught TUNG and KWONG finally. KONG invited YING for dinner but was refused. They accompanied CHEONG to find his friend. On the way, they got lost with him. Luckily, it was only a false terror. The relation between YING and KONG had improved a great deal after that incident. YING suspected a karaoke bar had illegal connection with the police. KONG sent somebody by pretending as customers and discovered there were a lot of student girls and prostitutes. Every time they checked their licence, those girls always left quickly. KONG thought there might be someone notify them secretly. He sent MAN as an undercover who however stole the car of BROTHER B, the owner of the karaoke bar.

Ep. 11: Episode 11
MAN eventually returned the car to BROTHER B whom admired him very much. BROTHER B assigned him to work in his karaoke bar with great responsibility. A prostitute LEI intended to visit her grandma. HUNG felt annoying and always beat her. MAN felt pitiful and helped her. FAI was also assigned to the karaoke bar for assistance. In the mean while, LEI was beaten again. In order to get her free, MAN purposely acted to her violently. FAI was dissatisfied. MAN brought a prostitute out and was met by KWAN. KWAN asked KONG about what had happened. KONG hesitated and she at last understood that it was his job. YING and KONG finally disclosed their lover relationship.

Ep. 12: Episode 12
YING met her ex-boyfriend KEI but she pretended as usual which made KEI felt unpleasant. YING was filled with deep emotion when she remembered herself being abandoned by KEI in the past. She determined never to accept him again. MAN recognized LEI's pains and promised to bring her visiting her grandma. LEI felt grateful and told MAN that HENG was the one who disclosed the police information to BROTHER B. FAI had taken some photos when HENG went up to the bar to advise BROTHER B. Because of his job, KIT contacted HENG and bet together. MAN brought a prostitute for HENG. When he tried to take some photos, he was being recognized and pointed by HENG with a gun.

Ep. 13: Episode 13
In order to disguise MAN's his identity, KIT lied that he was ordered to seize adulterer. HENG tried to look into MAN's record which had already been changed by KONG. It made BROTHER B believed that MAN had been a scapegoat for his big brother and was chivalrous. FAI visited MAN. In order not to arouse anybody's suspicion, MAN kissed her by pretending they were lovers. FAI was angry because she lost her first kiss. YING met KEI whom really wanted to please and court her again. YING was confused. ICAC realized that an agent ERIC had relations with BROTHER B. On the other hand, KIT had financial problem who lost several thousands so as to please SHAN and entertain HENG. He pawned SHAN's watch but he lost the money to HENG again.

Ep. 14: Episode 14
ICAC also found out a policeman TAI was involved in the case of HENG. They assigned him to be responsible for wiping out prostitution where the target was BROTHER B's karaoke bar. However, BROTHER B was being notified in advance, so the work of ICAC was in vain. In fact, HENG and TAI were ex-colleagues. On the surface they were against each other but actually they were on the same boat. KIT was short of money and lied to SHAN that he was robbed. SHAN was willing to support him financially. KEI asked YING to accept him again but was rejected. KWAN was chased by rascals, fortunately YING and KEI passed by and helped her to get rid of them. KEI sent KWAN home while YING left alone. On the way, YING met KONG and started their conversation about MUI in KONG's office. During the night, KEI called YING and asked her the reason why she returned so late. YING told him that she was wandering around……

Ep. 15: Episode 15
KIT was beaten cruelly by HENG as he owed him money. He decided to take revenge. ICAC discovered that the secretary of a police superintendent was very close to TAI. They made relevant arrangement with the police. The secretary got information by tracing the writing and then informed HENG. CHING was working in the karaoke bar, MAN demanded her to leave. TAI 'as usual' swept prostitution. BROTHER B was arrested but he denied the charge of corruption. POK was angry after knowing CHING working as a PR and slapped on her face. FONG asked CHING to stay with her temporarily. BROTHER B and HUNG mentioned that FAI had overheard their conversation and believed she was the undercover. When HUNG tried to kill FAI, MAN arrived and hit her with a wine bottle. FAI was fainted.

Ep. 16: Episode 16
MAN drove to the pier and deliberately left a note asking for help. ERIC and LEI gave out a diskette after they were on board where BROTHER B intended to kill them. FAI was being thrown into the sea, MAN revealed his real identity. At the same time, KONG arrived and YING shot at BROTHER B. MAN then saved FAI immediately. KIT was suspended from his duty which he felt hopeless. YING met KEI in a department store. She realized her father ran away but was being found. KONG found that KEI still loved YING and he quarreled with her. YING received a complaint about a bank staff helped somebody laundering money. MAN and FAI were assigned to find YAT SUN, an account holder of thirty million. During the pursuit, they discovered SUN was lying dead.

Ep. 17: Episode 17
MAN and FAI came to a dockyard and SUN was murdered. FAI by mistake hurt MAN. MAN didn't tell the truth which might affect FAI's career. FAI was impressed. ICAC suspected that someone had used SUN's account to conceal the illegal money. In addition, they laundered money by donation to charity organizations. KIT understood that FAT didn't like him of being poor. He purposely kept away from SHAN. However, SHAN claimed that she didn't mind he was penniless. JOYCE was in debt and asked CHUNG for help but he could not. JOYCE brought away CHING and threatened POK for money. JOYCE was robbed and being knocked down by a car when she escaped. CHUNG determined to accuse PUI. Unfortunately, PUI had destroyed all evidence. KONG invited YING to celebrate his birthday but she had a meeting with her old classmates. She postponed his engagement. KONG thought YING had changed and proposed to separate.

Ep. 18: Episode 18
YING separated with KONG at his birthday. She missed him very much. ICAC team worried about them due to their strange behavior. YING assigned MAN and FAI to protect CHUNG which FAI felt happy. CHING could not forget JOYCE and neglected POK. POK asked FONG for help, his relation with CHING could then be restored. CHUNG suddenly remembered that PUI had a signature for an account. KONG led the team to search PUI's office. SHAN met KIT in a fast food shop. Though KIT was indifferent to her, she didn't mind at all. YING and KEI met KONG in a bar. KONG and YING were wordless. PUI sent somebody to kill CHUNG. MAN was hurt when he protected CHUNG. FAI worried. PUI found that the situation was not good and asked KEI for ten million. KIT went to a warehouse to pick up some goods. He accidentally discovered vaccine to Rwanda was pebbles and witnessed KEI killing PUI.

Ep. 19: Episode 19
KEI realized that someone was in the warehouse and tried to put him to death. KIT pushed down some racks and escaped. KIT was threatened to repay his debt. By his clever contrivance, KIT extorted KEI for three million. KONG received an anonymous letter stating that vaccine to Rwanda was pebbles. He questioned KEI whom said that he knew nothing. KEI proposed marriage to YING. YING was touched but she didn't accept. FAI was very attentive to MAN. However, MAN explained to her that they were colleagues only. KIT squeezed money from KEI again. With SHAN's assistance, he got the money. SHAN was very disappointed to his illegal act. KONG found that KEI's resignation was due to his loss of testimony in the case of PONG. POK suggested him to have further investigation in China Town of USA. KEI intended to get hold of KIT but caught SHAN by mistake. KIT ran away. Afterwards, he regretted and tried to save SHAN.

Ep. 20: Episode 20
MAN was compelled to give out the film as he was afraid that KIT might hurt FAI. KIT brought KEI the film in order to save SHAN. KEI intended to kill them by exploding the taxi they were taking. However, they were being saved. YING realized that KEI deliberately hid his whereabouts. In addition, she noticed KEI was always with PONG and suspected he was related to PUI's matter. KEI was very cunning that he had discussion with PONG during car wash so as to prevent from ICAC's eavesdropper. YING tried to search some documents about KEI and PONG's illegal deal in ammunition. However, KEI recognized and changed the details to test her. According to YING's information, KONG went on board to investigate. MAN and FAI were hurt in the boat explosion. YING once again tried to get more accurate information. She went to KEI's place and was caught. KEI brought her to PONG and killed her at the pier……
