Synopsis
During the 1950s, Helsinki was the focal point of the Cold War, as global powers and their intelligence agencies coalesced in the small neutral country that stood between the East and the West. Shadow Lines is an international spy thriller that follows a secret intelligence team whose mission is to defend the independence of Finland no matter the cost.

Helsinki 1955: During the upcoming presidential election, the KGB, CIA and other intelligence services will do their utmost to ensure that the president will be of their chosen. Nyrkki, secret team of Finnish spies effectively protects Finland's independence when the newest member of the group compromises everything in search for the truth about their own past.

Both the Soviet Union that the United States accelerate intelligence activities, as both are afraid Finland sliding into enemy's side in the face of presidential elections. The CIA supports Fagerholm, KGB supports Kekkonen, but who would take Finland's side?

Big money is always involved whenever there is top secret information for sale. What is going on at the Porkkala military base leased to the Soviet troops, which is only twenty kilometers away from Helsinki?

Ep. 3: Escape From Porkkala
While the U.S. embassy investigates the strange death of its CIA agent and receives surprising assistance from Washington, Nyrkki decides to strike directly at the Porkkala military base, closely guarded by the Red Army.

The CIA and the KGB are furiously investigating the agent's death and Porkkala's security breach. As a member of the team, Helena follows the wife of KGB agent Sergejev and faces against Hertta Kuusinen.

Ep. 5: Murder in Moscow
President Paasikivi and Prime Minister Kekkonen will pay an official visit to Moscow. Tabe Slioor and his mannequins also travel unofficially there to present Finnish fashion to the mistresses of the Soviet elite.

Kekkonen is the center of attention at Tabe Slioor's party. Of course, Nyrkki is also there and has to witness Paasikivi's outburst.

Fagerholm's election campaign gets a sizeable remittance from the U.S, that Nyrkki gets a lead on. The struggle between the members of the CIA agents is getting harder and mistrust is growing inside Nyrkki too.

Julius is beaten and trapped, but Helena reconciles her sins with Sergejev’s gifts. Operation Baba Yaga kicks off at Christmas when Yrjö surprises Helena and Julius with his Christmas present.

The return of Porkkala and the presidential election getting closer. Will CIA agent Lisa succeed in makingJulius an ally? Helena organizes the defect of Sergejev and her children to the west.

On the eve of the presidential election, Helena and Julius confide in each other. CIA agent Lisa has decided not to leave Fagerholm's victory to a chance, but Nyrkki will stand their ground.
