K9 Cop (2016)
Synopsis
After losing both parents at a young age, Lai Yat-tsau becomes a parent figure for his three younger sisters. His mother’s death and his father’s fall to drug addiction turned Yat-tsau into a very quick-tempered and chauvinistic man. Originally assigned to the Kwun Tong Police Station, Yat-tsau’s superior transfers him to the K-9 unit to work with police dogs, hoping that the strict training would better shape his character. At this new department, he develops a partnership with veterinarian Ma Chi-ho, who helps him solve cases for the police.

Ep. 1: Episode 1
Police officer LAI YAT-CHOW's main mission today is to follow a gangster; on the other hand, Sergeant FAI CHUNG-LIM gets in touch with CHING-CHING. CHUNG-LIM calls YAT-CHOW and tells him to arrest the gangster so as to get his USB flash drive. Though YAT-CHOW manages to subdue the gangster after a struggle, LUI KAM-TONG suddenly appears and turns the tables. YAT-CHOW and CHUNG-LIM later arrive at a restaurant, where YAT-CHOW learns about the falling-out between CHUNG-LIM and his second youngest sister SHUK-CHI, so YAT-CHOW teaches CHUNG-LIM how to cheer her up by giving her some money to spend. YAT-CHOW is very impressed that CHUNG-LIM's mother, SO FU-LIM, can run the family business single-handedly. Unfortunately, CHUNG-LIM shows no interest in running the business himself. Upon his return home, YAT-CHOW out of the blue sees LUI KAM-PO slowly approaching his younger sister, SHUK-CHU, with a knife in his hand.… ...

Ep. 2: Episode 2
MA CHI-CHUNG and his co-worker ship the dog, BROTHER, to the animal shelter run by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD), where CHI-CHUNG's older sister, MA CHI-HO, immediately tends to BROTHER's wound after seeing the dog hurt and bleeding. After checking out the dog, CHI-HO suspects that BROTHER was abused. As for YAT-CHOW, he has to be hospitalized after being bitten by BROTHER, and the wound makes him feel itchy and painful. Mistaking CHI-HO for a police officer, YAT-CHOW describes the moment he was bitten by the dog. YAT-CHOW learns that his new boss is the legendary cop, CHUNG WAI-KIN, and feels very excited. KUNG-YAN intends to clean the kennel, but fails to do so because BROTHER seems very aggressive. CHI-HO then offers some tips to KUNG-YAN, teaching him how to earn BROTHER's trust. Meanwhile, KAM-PO wants YAT-CHOW to throw him in jail in hopes of evading capture by KAM-TONG.… ...

With the video of the dispute between SHUK-FAN and CHI-HO uploaded to the internet by a third party, YAT-CHOW and his family members come to realise CHI-CHUNG's difficult childhood after viewing the video. YAT-CHOW goes to have a word with CHI-HO in an attempt to discuss CHI-CHUNG's intention to resign. However, as soon as he sees CHI-HO taking the dog BROTHER, he instead questions CHI-HO on why she has not put down the dog yet. Flying into a rage, CHI-HO starts lecturing him, and she even becomes so emotional that she starts to tear up. YUEN-KWAN asks CHUNG-LIM out on a date to see a movie, but CHUNG-LIM turns her down. In a hotel, TAI SAM spots SHUK-CHI entering in a room together with a man, so he instantly informs CHUNG-LIM about it. CHUNG-LIM dashes to the hotel, behaving as if he were insane, only to find it to be a misunderstanding.… ...

YUEN-KWAN walks into the police station with a bouquet of red roses, showing them off in front of the other police officers. WAI-KIN tells YAT-CHOW to go to a firing range and asks him about CHI-CHUNG's response. YAT-CHOW recalls that CHI-CHUNG not only kept talking bad about WAI-KIN, but also revealed his resentment and how he was treated wrongly during his childhood. WAI-KIN later returns CHUNG-LIM's resignation letter to YAT-CHOW, hoping that YAT-CHOW can convince CHUNG-LIM to withdraw his resignation because she thinks CHUNG-LIM is a good cop. While SHUK-CHI and CHUNG-LIM are preparing for their wedding ceremony, SHUK-CHI appears to be very excited but CHUNG-LIM seems preoccupied. However, SHUK-CHI doesn't realise it until YAT-CHOW points out to her that she didn't seem to understand CHUNG-LIM.… ...

Ep. 5: Episode 5
YAT-CHOW is going to be sent to the Police Dog Training School for training, and he is convinced that it's WAI-KIN who transferred him on purpose. WAI-KIN disciplines YAT-CHOW, commanding him to run extra miles, following which WAI-KIN frankly discloses things happened between her and BEAST. After hearing that CHUNG-LIM's company is hiring a secretary, SHUK-FAN begs SHUK-CHI to introduce her to them for a job interview. Though CHUNG-LIM agrees to do so, FU-KWAI is strongly opposed to the decision. YAT-CHOW receives a phone call from a publisher who claims that they are interested in SHUK-CHU's picture book, instantly raising YAT-CHOW's anger to a fever pitch. According to YAT-CHOW, SHUK-CHU has already been deceived by the publisher twice. While urging SHUK-CHU to focus on her current career as a kindergarten teacher, YAT-CHOW also pressures SHUK-CHU to transfer all her money to his bank account.… ...

WAI-KIN and CHI-CHUNG arrive at the hospital, but CHI-HO is nowhere to be found. After WAI-KIN comes to CHI-HO's home, CHI-HO tells her that the dog had puppies before it died, so she is going to search for the puppies together with BROTHER. As such, CHI-CHUNG and YAT-CHOW lead BROTHER to look for the puppies. Suddenly, CHUNG-LIM receives a phone call from the bank, informing him that SHUK-CHI withdrew a total of $400,000 from his bank account. CHUNG-LIM can't take it anymore, so he dashes to SHUK-CHI's home, asking her for an explanation. However, after he opens the door, the one inside turns out to be SHUK-CHU. It's the first time for YAT-CHOW himself to take a dog for a walk after being admitted to the Police Dog Training School, but the dog doesn't respond to his command at all. Meanwhile, FU-KWAI wants to meet SHUK-CHI after learning the latter has already spent over one million dollars of CHUNG-LIM's money.… ...

CHUNG-LIM and SHUK-CHI eventually sign the marriage licence, but after SHUK-CHI shows CHUNG-LIM the photos taken by the private detective, CHUNG-LIM flies into a rage and wants to divorce her. At the school, SHUK-CHU always helps people with whatever they ask her for, including the handyman who also takes advantage of her kindness; whereas KAM-PO can't stand it anymore so he helps SHUK-CHU see the truth. Jogging with BROTHER, CHI-HO notices that BROTHER loves interacting with people. CHI-HO returns home and sees CHI-CHUNG, who frankly admits that he is going to divorce SHUK-FAN and hopes to stay in her place for the time being. As for YAT-CHOW, he can't help bursting with anger after uncovering SHUK-CHU's plan of transferring money to the publisher. CHI-HO reveals to YAT-CHOW that BROTHER suffers from separation anxiety, yet in accordance with the regulations of the PDU, the former dog handlers are forbidden to see their dogs once the dogs are donated to the PDU. It's not until CHI-HO offers some tips to YAT-CHOW that BROTHER is willing to eat. KAM-PO sneaks into SHUK-CHU's office in an attempt to steal the entrance examination question papers, to his surprise, SHUK-CHU tells him the examination syllabus upon her return. SHUK-CHU shows her first draft of the picture book to KAM-PO, urging him to pay attention to the role of the clown in the book. However, KAM-PO just offers some perfunctory comments. CHI-HO comes home and looking disheveled with injuries to her face, and CHI-CHUNG instantly knows it's SHUK-FAN's deeds as soon as he sees her. After CHI-HO asks CHI-CHUNG whether he has any plan for the future, CHI-CHUNG replies that he plans to go to Japan.… ...

Ep. 10: Episode 10
Since YAT-CHOW is still unable to earn BROTHER's trust, CHI-HO frankly discloses that she would have to disqualify him from being the police dog handler if there is no improvement at all. CHI-CHUNG tells SHUK-FAN that he is not going to Japan, making her very happy. However, CHI-HO suspects that CHI-CHUNG tries to coax SHUK-FAN into having an abortion, so she calls WAI-KIN, asking her for help. Suddenly, SHUK-FAN experiences nausea and vomiting in a hotel in Shenzhen and is rushed to the Emergency Room. Being questioned by CHI-HO and WAI-KIN as to whether or not he still wants the baby, CHI-CHUNG frankly admits that he is still struggling with it. WAI-KIN runs into YING-MEI and then introduces him to CHI-HO, following which CHI-HO overhears that YING-MEI is somewhat related to her.… ...

When YAT-CHOW and CHI-HO are searching for BROTHER in a forest, BROTHER suddenly appears and leads them to go deeper into the forest, where they find a woman lying on the ground. SHUK-CHI is determined to sell her wedding ring, and she urges SHUK-FAN to help her no matter what. Ever since KAM-PO betrayed SHUK-CHU, the pictures drawn by SHUK-CHU have been in black and white, through which she hopes to educate the children on the cruelty of the grown-up world as early as possible. As for SHUK-CHI, she not only gives her support to SHUK-CHU for her decision to publish her picture book, but also hands her wedding ring to SHUK-CHU, telling her to sell it. CHARLIE is all tears following the death of KATIE and she appeals for CHUNG-LIM's help finding the killer. CHUNG-LIM goes to a bar to talk to someone who knows the late KATIE, during which a staff member tells him that KATIE was with a man called LEI-SZE before her death.… ...

CHUNG-LIM is going to be disciplined for his aggressive behavior in the hospital, yet he still misses SHUK-CHI; whereas YAT-CHOW is informed by SHUK-CHU that SHUK-CHI went missing after learning that CHUNG-LIM decided to divorce her. BROTHER officially becomes a K9 cop and turns out to be very popular among the masses on the first day to walk the beat. Going to a book store together with YAT-CHOW, WAI-KIN reads the books while teaching YAT-CHOW everything she learned in the past when she was BEAST's handler, during which YAT-CHOW notices that CHI-HO is following them. CHI-HO meets up with YAT-CHOW, extending her gratitude to him for having saved her from the embarrassment in the book store. YAT-CHOW then suggests that CHI-HO should pretend to be lovelorn so as to get WAI-KIN's attention, and she can seize the opportunity to investigate the matter.… ...

Bringing along the watch, KAM-PO goes to have a word with LEI-SZE, who instead takes the issue lightly; whereas KAM-PO notices there are police officers nearby, leaving him no other choice but to stay in a convenience store and get drunk. One of the employees there finds SHUK-CHU's business card and then informs her to come and get KAM-PO. Having to put up with a bit of a struggle, SHUK-CHU eventually brings KAM-PO home, where she out of the blue finds some drugs and a large amount of money. YAT-CHOW makes up a love story for CHI-HO, following which CHI-HO dresses up to the nines and goes to a beach together with YAT-CHOW to take photos. Instantly, YAT-CHOW is attracted to the way she looks. Their plan turns out to be very successful, and WAI-KIN tells CHI-HO to move to her place and live with her. It's confirmed that KATIE died of overdosing on a drug named HAZE, so CHUNG-LIM suspects that it has something to do with LEI-SZE.… ...

SHUK-CHU and the others claim that the reason why CHUNG-LIM was out of control is because he was drugged by someone, but SHUK-CHI doesn't believe it, above which she insists that CHUNG-LIM is addicted to drugs. Once again, KAM-PO has gone missing and is nowhere to be found, so SHUK-CHU tells YAT-CHOW that she found drugs and money in KAM-PO's home. YAT-CHOW and CHUNG-LIM discover a ring that belonged to the late KATIE in the taxi driven by KAM-PO, deducing that KATIE was on board the taxi before her death. Sneaking into SHUK-CHU's home, KAM-PO drops a picture book in her mail box, and on the picture book he wrote down his thoughts and feelings. Later on, KAM-PO breaks into LEI-SZE's home and steals the formula that is used to make the HAZE drug. Unexpectedly, he bumps into LEI-SZE and drunk SHUK-CHI who happen to come back home. Sensing something is wrong, he immediately calls CHUNG-LIM in secret.… ...

KAM-PO attempts to flee Hong Kong, but once he thinks of SHUK-CHU, he is still reluctant to leave. Ever since YAT-CHOW suffered injuries, BROTHER has refused to eat anything. Having learned about YAT-CHOW's injuries, KAM-PO can't help blaming himself for this; whereas YAT-CHOW wants KAM-PO to turn himself in and testify against LEI-SZE. Just as SHUK-CHI is troubled by the recent action related to jumping off the roof, CHUNG-LIM seizes the opportunity to persuade her not to divorce him. Meanwhile, YAT-CHOW notices BROTHER's fear of climbing stairs while leading BROTHER to hunt down a criminal. CHUNG-LIM is demoted to uniform police officer and is placed on the same team as YAT-CHOW; whereas YAT-CHOW also finds out about the fact that CHUNG-LIM's restaurant hired KAM-PO as a waiter, above which he suddenly turns hostile towards KAM-PO as soon as he sees KAM-PO holding SHUK-CHU's hand.… ...

Being informed about the discovery of a dead infant on the street, BROTHER is instructed to track the scent, during which they run into the perpetrator, but BROTHER is too afraid to enter the ventilation fans. YAT-CHOW frankly discloses BROTHER's problem to TAI LOI, who suggests that he should take BROTHER back to Sandy Ridge and consult CHI-HO. By accident, SHUK-CHU overhears that KAM-PO is bullied by one of the employees called HUNG, but she heaves a sigh of relief after seeing KAM-PO restrain himself and keep silent. On top of that, she even decides to clean the kitchen together with KAM-PO, which however leads to a misunderstanding by YAT-CHOW. While YAT-CHOW is teaching KAM-PO a lesson, HUNG happens to overhear about the relationship between KAM-TONG and KAM-PO. Meeting up with SHUK-CHI, FU-KWAI requests SHUK-CHI to sign a contract, saying SHUK-CHI will be rewarded each time she gives birth to a baby.… ...

On the day when CHI-CHUNG is taking the exam, SHUK-FAN specifically goes to the examination venue to wait for him. To her surprise, she sees CHI-CHUNG leave the examination venue early, so she goes to scold him about it. However, she becomes so emotional that her water breaks. After giving birth to her child, SHUK-FAN tells YAT-CHOW about what happened in the examination venue, hoping that YAT-CHOW will kick CHI-CHUNG out of her home. In order to seduce CHUNG-LIM, SHUK-CHI goes to shop for some sexy lingerie, without knowing that the shop owner instead tries to convince her to be their spokesperson. HUNG hopes that KAM-PO can introduce him to KAM-TONG as he wants to be KAM-TONG's protégé. As for KAM-TONG, he goes to visit LEI-SZE in jail and wants to buy out his drug formula. TAI SAM goes to deposit money at the bank, and midway through he suddenly has a heart attack, so he calls the restaurant, seeking help.… ...

CHI-HO not only takes YAT-CHOW to the party held by WAI-KIN but also announces their romantic relationship in a high-profile manner, which exasperates WAI-KIN beyond endurance. YAT-CHOW realises that he is just a pawn and attempts to leave, but CHI-HO clarifies that he totally misunderstood the whole thing. Having reflected on what YAT-CHOW said to her, CHI-HO apologizes to WAI-KIN; whereas WAI-KIN can't hold it back anymore after knowing that CHI-HO doubts her, so she tells CHI-HO about things that happened in the past as well as CHI-HO's real identity. SHUK-CHU specifically goes to comfort KAM-PO after learning the latter put forward a resignation from his waiter job, unexpectedly she learns that KAM-PO decides to work for KAM-TONG, making her feel very sad. CHI-CHUNG apologizes to CHI-HO regarding things that happened during the examination, begging CHI-HO to help him again.… ...

With KAM-PO suddenly vanishing without a trace, YAT-CHOW spots someone wearing KAM-PO's watch, so he follows the scent only to find out that person is going to obliterate all traces of KAM-PO. KAM-TONG comes to the police station to take a statement, surprisingly, SHUK-CHU slaps him on the face. YAT-CHOW and CHUNG-LIM try to get themselves transferred back to the Criminal Investigation Unit by buttering up FAT-LI. All of a sudden, CHUNG-LIM's phone rings, telling him that someone happened to see SHUK-CHI. Later on, he together with YAT-CHOW see someone fighting over drugs, and it turns out that the HAZE formula has been spreading like wildfire through the internet. At that moment, SHUK-CHI suddenly appears. As soon as they see KAM-TONG, they try to arrest him, however, BROTHER is too afraid to climbing up the stairs, so KAM-TONG seizes the chance to escape.… ...

CHUNG-LIM urgently calls up YAT-CHOW, claiming that he took a photo of the person who uploaded the drug formula online. YAT-CHOW takes a look at that person and to his surprise, that person turns out to be KAM-TONG. Going to a bank to withdraw all her money, SHUK-CHU runs into SHUK-CHI, who tries to persuade her not to do so, but SHUK-CHU flips out. Late at night, SHUK-CHU sneaks back to the school to meet up with KAM-TONG. After sneaking a peek at SHUK-CHU's phone, YAT-CHOW and the others also learn that SHUK-CHU went back to school. When YAT-CHOW reprimands SHUK-CHU for not telling them the truth, KAM-TONG admits that SHUK-CHU was just doing what he told her to do. Meanwhile, CHUNG-LIM asks KAM-TONG for additional information with regard to the recent homicide, leaving him no other choice but to reveal the whole truth.… ...
