Synopsis
When Jed Pickersgill finds himself too ill to run his Chelsea pub, The Brown Cow, he calls upon his middle-aged daughter Nellie for help. Nellie moves from Bolton to London to help, despite being a teetotal.

Nellie, the straight-laced daughter of the landlord, takes over the management of the Brown Cow Pub when her father gets sick. Things are going fine until a property developer with plans for the pub comes by to buy the pub.

An executive from the Brewery dictates no more pints and crisps. They are going upmarket with wines and dinners. Nellie tries hard to go along with it, with the usual results.

The pub down the road has started live entertainment with go-go girls. All the regulars have gone there. Jed has an idea about how to lure them back, but will Nellie allow strippers?
