Synopsis

Le Havre, France. The city’s at war as local mobsters and petty gangsters fight over territory, while the police do their best to put an end to the drug trafficking that holds sway over town. Set on a backdrop of social misery, the cases followed by dutiful Inspector Faraday and Paul Winckler, his former partner with completely opposite methods, combine gripping realism and riveting investigations.

A policeman is killed on the job as he was preparing to bring down a drug lord. Meanwhile, Faraday's deaf and dumb son is suspected of having not helped a young drug addict-a participant in the documentary he is producing as part of a campaign against drug abuse.

Who put Dimitri Lomet on the tracks of a funicular railway and left him to die? A man of conviction committed to the most vulnerable in society, Dimitri was behind an exhibition on child exploitation. And Alex Guirardon, who also worked on the project, is now missing.

A decapitated corpse with no hands is discovered on a beach. Death occurred several weeks earlier. With no one reported missing, identification is complex. However there is a possible link to dark tales of sex parties between key figures in the city's salubrious neighbourhoods.
Ep. 5: The night of the shipwreck (2013-12-06)

A skeleton is found in a trawler that sank several years earlier. The metal hatch concealing the skeleton was locked from the outside, pointing to a crime. Meanwhile, the security manager of a canning factory is murdered in his home.
Ep. 6: Repeated blows (2013-12-13)

An anaesthetist is murdered in her bathtub as the apartment of a cosmetic surgeon is sacked and the doctor kidnapped. It then emerges that the two worked together in the past with one of their operations resulting in the death of a patient.
Ep. 7: A fine death (2014-10-24)

A body is found in Bazza Swaty´s swimming pool. He tries to hide the proof and the body. Though things don't look good for him, he stubbornly refuses to defend himself. Captain Dardenne takes advantage of this to nail Bazza, instructing Faraday to go after him, while sidelining Winckler.
Ep. 8: Chapel of rest (2014-10-31)

A young priest is killed in his rectory and his church ransacked as if the killer was looking for something. Winckler and Faraday initially suspect some young delinquents the deceased priest was helping. Then an unidentified woman is found dead, marked in a strange way.
Ep. 9: Long-distance (2016-03-18)

A man is found dead in his car near a beach, shot in the head. The marksman appears to have been several hundred meters away at the time of the shot. Such a precise kill points to an execution.
Ep. 10: A visa for hell (2016-03-25)

An emergency doctor is found killed by a bullet in the back of the neck after being tortured. Shortly afterwards, the body of a former journalist is found: he had also been tortured before being drowned. Faraday and Winckler discover both had links with two young women who'd recently disappeared...
Ep. 11: Justices (2016-11-11)

A few years ago, Faraday investigated the disappearance of a young woman and arrested a suspect. But today, the discovery of the woman's body forces him to reopen the case. Could he have been mistaken? At the same time, he has to save his son, whose life is threatened.
Ep. 12: Dead loves (2016-11-18)

A man's body is found at the wheel of his car near the bridge linking Le Havre with Honfleur. It rapidly transpires that the victim led a double life between these two towns: two wives and two children who knew nothing of each other, two identical homes and offices.
