Synopsis
Candice Renoir had put her career on standby for 10 years. When she returns from Singapore to resume service in a port town in the south of France, she feels a bit “rusty”. Despite the obvious defiance of her unit and a cynical superior who doesn’t make her job any easier, she is determined to turn her so-called weaknesses into strengths, solving the most complex cases with her common sense, her acute observation and her practical nature seasoned by a busy daily routine. Only Candice can catch a killer because she knows the chemical composition of a window-cleaning product or determine the hour of a murder from the cooking-time of kebabs… Candice is only naive on the outside, and nobody can resist her!

After 10 years abroad, Candice Renoir is back in the south of France and back on the case as a police superintendent. Newly divorced with four kids, Candice feels rusty at work—and her skeptical colleagues dont help. Determined to prove her so-called weaknesses are strengths, she solves complex cases with common sense, acute observations, and a practical nature honed by the life of a busy mom.

Ep. 1: Still Waters Run Deep
After a 10-year sabbatical in Singapore, Candice Renoir is back in the south of France and back to work as a police commandant. As she deals with divorce proceedings, four children and skeptical colleagues, her first murder case isnt an easy task. On the seashore a seemingly unremarkable woman is found dead, and only Candice is able to guess the victim's double life.

Ep. 2: The More, the Merrier?
Candice's children are having trouble adjusting to their new life and Candice's team are having trouble adjusting to their new boss. There are still crimes to be solved and Candice and her friend Pascale, the forensic pathologist, are called to the scene when a man is found dead lying next to his barbecue.

Ep. 3: Eat and Drink, for Tomorrow We Shall Die!
When 17-year-old Arthur is thrown into the harbor, Candice learns he was binge drinking, an activity she"s never heard of. The young man survives but the case strikes close to home for Candice, as she's having problems with her own teenager, Emma. In the end, it's these very difficulties as a mother that help her crack Arthur"s case.

Ep. 4: Credit Where Credit"s Due
Having only had one lover in her life—her ex-husband—Candice is hesitant to go to bed with her handsome neighbor, Hervé. Soon enough she's distracted from her dilemma by a new case, when a badly damaged body is found in a dump. Candice recognizes the victim as an occasional prostitute and she deploys her unique assets to gain access to a "special" party.

Ep. 5: To Con a Con Man
One night, Candice is called to an emergency at a local hotel after a wheelchair-bound man is thrown down a flight of stairs. It turns out the man had leukemia and had been tended to by the hotel staff but lately his condition had worsened. Was it attempted murder, or suicide? Candice feels exhausted from the demands of work and motherhood when someone appears out of the blue to make it all worse.

Ep. 6: Never a Borrower nor a Lender Be
The kids are happy to have their father, Laurent, back home but Candice is far from thrilled. Meanwhile, she has work to do, as a woman in her 40s is found dead in her car. Candice notes the scent of a plant-based poison and learns the woman was an aficionada of natural medicines. As she calls upon her knowledge of herbal remedies to help solve the case, she also learns Laurent"s true intentions.

Ep. 7: Death of the Sinner
When teenager Dylan Rieux is found murdered in a field with cannabis in his pocket, for Antoine it's a drug crime but for Candice it's a love story gone wrong. The victim was in love with a girl named Juliette, who left him to join an evangelical group. Candice sets out to locate the religious community and cast light on Dylan's death.

Ep. 8: The End Justifies the Means
When Antoine is temporarily assigned to a different police division, Candice is on her own to solve the case of Sabine Missoni, a naval architect murdered on her work site. With other team members also unavailable, Candice is coming up short until her twin boys unexpectedly provide a clue. Meanwhile, Laurent makes a decision that could impact Candice's relationship with Hervé.
