Robert Schultze, a trucking contractor, and his passenger Benjamin Niederreuter are once again on a long haul in their Mercedes 6600 truck. Suddenly, a mysterious man emerges from the fog beside the road. The stranger asks for a ride: he claims to be a doctor who was on his way to see a patient when he got into a car accident. But is he really a doctor, or is he the escaped convict whom the police are already frantically searching for?

Sabine has run away from home. She meets Benjamin, the long-haul truck driver, who immediately agrees to secretly take the young girl with him to Holland on his trip in his Mercedes 6600 truck. His boss, Robert Schultze, runs into Sabine’s mother by chance and learns from her the story of the runaway. He decides, with the mother’s consent, to teach her daughter a thorough lesson and thereby bring her to her senses.
