Synopsis
Detective Sergei Chelishchev leaves the police to find the real murderer of his parents. Everything changes when he meets his long-lost friend, a war veteran who joined local mafia following the fall of the Soviet Union.

Ep. 1: Episode #1.1
In Leningrad in 1982, law students Sergei, Oleg, and Katya are close friends. Ten years later, Sergei, now a prosecutor, learns that his parents have been murdered. When the investigation is quickly closed, Sergei suspects a cover-up and leaves the prosecutor’s office.

Sergei begins working as a lawyer and discovers a possible connection between his father’s business and the murder. In prison, he unexpectedly meets Oleg, whom he believed had died in Afghanistan. Oleg is now a powerful criminal known as “The Advocate,” and his wife Katya offers Sergei a job.

Sergei earns the respect of Oleg’s men after dealing with a group of competitors. Katya tells him how she reunited with Oleg after her first husband’s death. The crime boss Antibiotic then gives Sergei a dangerous assignment involving Chechen criminals threatening his organization.

Sergei manages to resolve the conflict with the Chechen gang without bloodshed. Antibiotic sends him and Katya to Moscow to collect a business loan. After they return, Sergei learns that the banker connected to the deal has been murdered. Oleg is released from prison and reveals that Antibiotic was responsible for his arrest.

Antibiotic’s men are arrested during a raid, along with Sergei. A former colleague tells Sergei that the man killed during the investigation into his parents’ murder was connected to Oleg’s gang. After killing Guse in a fight, Sergei meets the crime boss Gurgen, who reveals that Oleg ordered the murder of Sergei’s parents.

Antibiotic attempts to intimidate Sergei by staging an attack by Caucasian criminals. Meanwhile, Sergei becomes involved in the transportation of aluminum and hires his old friend Sasha Vydrin. As he investigates his parents’ murder, Sergei discovers that Deputy Glazanov and Yulia may both be connected to the crime.

Sergei’s wounds worsen, and Katya takes him to her home to recover. The two spend the night together, and Katya reveals that she has a son with Oleg. Sergei later finds a hidden stash of money and passports. After another assassination attempt, Antibiotic identifies the man behind the attacks and orders Sergei to kill him.

Sergei works with Yulia and Baba Dusya to obtain compromising evidence against former prosecutor Prokhorenko. He also leaks information about a planned confrontation between Antibiotic’s men and a rival gang. Sergei secretly plants drugs and a fake passport in Katya’s bag, sending her to prison. Katya realizes that Sergei betrayed her but refuses to expose him.

After Oleg is released from prison, he takes Sergei to a country restaurant, intending to kill him over his relationship with Katya. The two men eventually join forces against Antibiotic. Sergei tries to arrange a deal with an investigator to save Katya and expose Antibiotic, but the investigator is killed before they can meet.

Sergei and Oleg capture police officer Chernov and force him to reveal information about Antibiotic’s organization. Sergei sends evidence of the gang’s crimes to the prosecutor’s office and a journalist. Antibiotic orders his men to find the two “Advocates.” As Sergei and Oleg attempt to escape the country with Katya, the gang catches up with them, leading to a tragic final confrontation.
