Tax Me! (If You Can!) (2026)
Synopsis
Over twenty years, the ultra-rich have multiplied their wealth sixfold and cut their taxes to the point of being taxed less than the poorest. The situation is the same across the whole planet. How have states favoured the richest in order to keep them at home? How have they come to be so widely backed by an ideology that extols the merits of “trickle-down” economics? Why are the ultra-rich fighting at all costs against bills like the Zucman Tax, which would make it possible to tax their wealth and, according to its advocates, restore tax fairness on an international scale? And how, in the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe, is a new generation of millionaires taking the opposite stance from their elders and peers and trying to put an end to this inequality?

Ep. 1: The Tax Triumph of the Ultra-Rich
Over the past half-century, tax inequality has steadily widened as the wealthiest have seen their fortunes soar while their tax burden has fallen. From the rise of trickle-down economics under Ronald Reagan to the global mechanisms that allow vast fortunes to escape taxation, the documentary explores how the tax system came to favor the ultra-rich - and how this transformation was presented as beneficial to society as a whole.

Ep. 2: The Battle of the Pro-Tax Millionaires
Economist Gabriel Zucman has become a leading figure in a growing movement of millionaires and economists campaigning for fairer taxation of the ultra-rich. The documentary follows their efforts to persuade governments and international institutions to reform the tax system, while examining the political forces and powerful interests that stand in their way, including the impact of Donald Trump's return to power in 2025.
