Just Beyond (StudioX0) (2026)
Synopsis
Fourteen-year-old Sora has a plan: sneak her little brother Ren out of summer camp, catch the last ferry at nine, and cross the bay to reach their dad before it's too late. A notebook. A memorized route. A loose board in the fence. Ferry, bus, train. Simple. But as the two of them thread through forests, climb ridgelines, and survive one terrifyingly close encounter with a bear — the parents they're racing toward sit in silence across a mediator's table. And something vast and impossible begins to move through the clouds above them all. A story about a family pulling apart, two children trying to hold it together, and the night that changes everything.

Ep. 2: No Way Back
The ferry leaves at nine. Sora and Ren are still on the road when the sky stops making sense. While the two of them push toward the coast — past abandoned cars, racing police sirens, and a radio voice telling everyone to stay exactly where they are — the phone rings in their mother's kitchen: the camp has lost both children. Now Mira and David, who only speak when it's about the kids, are watching the same impossible shape settle over their city, with no idea their son and daughter are out beneath it, walking the wrong way. No one knows what the ships are. They haven't moved. They haven't spoken. They're simply there — over thirty countries and counting.
-
Ep. 3: The Town
Sora and Ren are thirty seconds from becoming a line in a clipboard for "unaccompanied minors". A boy named Tommy is telling them what's about to happen and offering them a way out. They don't know him. No one knows what the ship wants. It's just there, as it has been, hanging over thirty countries and counting, waiting for something no one can name. Until, in the middle of a channel that has no business being crossed, the water opens — and something at the bottom of it looks up. Outside, you're still deciding. Inside, somebody decides for you.
-
Ep. 4: Down
Sora, Ren, and Tommy are floating over a chasm that cut itself into the sea — until the seafloor cracks open and an alien city rises to meet them. The boat starts to sink. Not falling. Lowered, gently, by something that knows exactly what it's doing. No one knows what wants them down there. But the water on the chasm floor is starting to lift, taking shape, taking a step — and it isn't looking at them. Not yet. Outside, David and Mira are learning they might have to break some rules when the world stops making sense. Inside the chasm, three kids are learning the same thing from the other side.
-
Ep. 5: The City
Sora, Ren, and Tommy are alone on the chasm floor, hunting for Junky through a city that doesn't know they exist — figures made of water, close enough to touch, blind to anything human. Somewhere in the dark, a dog is hiding from something. They just don't know what yet. What they find instead is a world that was built to be seen: a family at dinner, a whale the size of a memory, and a way back to their parents. Outside, David and Mira are learning they might have to break some rules when the world stops making sense. Inside the chasm, three kids are learning the same thing from the other side.
