With high school graduation behind them and the pressure of "real life" looming, Leo convinces the group to finish their secret project: The Cricket, a vessel built from scrapyard parts and theoretical physics. What starts as a rebellious act of suburban escapism turns into a nightmare when a localized power surge tears a hole in the fabric of the cul-de-sac.
