After a fight with his mother, Nate decides he can no longer stay at home. During his escape attempt, he remembers his former best friend, Maddy, and the stories she used to tell. These memories lead Nate to confront Alice in a desperate attempt to convince her to let him leave the house, creating a growing tension that threatens to change their lives forever.

Taking advantage of the positive changes in his routine, Nate begins to believe that everything is returning to normal. However, upon visiting his old house, he realizes that even the smallest decision can have major consequences.
