Dark Knight (2000)
Synopsis
"Dark Knight" is a TV series, based very loosely on Sir Walter Scott's novel "Ivanhoe". This joint New Zealand/England production attempted to capitalize on the same sword and sorcery market successfully mined by "Xena: Warrior Princess". Ancient evil is about to be unleashed on the land and the only hope is the sharp sword, the pure heart and the mysterious force that protects the 'Chosen One' Ivanhoe.

Ep. 1: Dark Knight: Part 1
It is the year 1193. King Richard "the Lionheart" of England is held prisoner in an Austrian castle. A handful of his men reach home charged with raising a ransom for his release, amongst them is Ivanhoe, who also wants to make peace with his father, Lord Cedric of Rotherwood Castle, for leaving his family to fight in the crusades.

Ep. 2: Dark Knight: Part 2
Prince John, in his fortress of Torquilstone Castle, has his necromancer Mordour try to kill Ivanhoe, but without success, so they decide to destroy the things close to him, and sack Rotherwood Castle.

Ep. 3: Marjan the Magnificent
Marjan the Magnificent finds a amulet that allows him to walk through mirrors and pass the demon world in between the mirrors. Prince John immediately hires Marjan, sending him out to kill King Richard's supporters, but Ivanhoe will not allow this to happen.

Ep. 4: King of the Woods
A blood-red moon rises over England, and it bodes ill for a country still enduring the Norman boot, but the same moon also shines on the ancient forests and pagan glades of the land, where liberty lies hidden and a young warrior-knight will shortly undergo an amazing and mystical transformation.

Ep. 5: Ultimate Sword
Ivanhoe robs King John's mint to help raise King Richard's ransom, which is being collected by Lord Sirus. Rebecca & Odo take the money to Sirus in York, while Ivanhoe goes to see Fingal, who instructs him on how to find the Ultimate Sword, a weapon with the magical power to tear the fabric of space and time. However, Mordour is also on its trail, and gets there first, using it to travel to Rotherwood Castle in the time of Ivanhoe's infancy in order to kill him - Ivanhoe follows him and tries to thwart his intentions.

Ep. 6: Spellbound
Odo's misspent youth resurfaces when he returns to his roots to purloin a very special book that provides him with the opportunity of a little "further education". The ex-sorcerer's apprentice decides to put his training into practice, with chaotic results! Ivanhoe loses his heart, and Odo loses his grip when he opens the fatal Book of Spells.

Ep. 7: Gamesmaster
The game has begun. The stakes: beyond measure. For the winner: mastery of an awful power. For the loser: a cruel death and eternal damnation. In a cosmic contest kept mercifully hidden for a thousand years, Ivanhoe and his comrades find themselves as human pawns in the pitiless hands of the Gamesmaster.

From the depths of the ancient forest comes an invisible horror that threatens the life and soul of Odo, and ultimately, Rebecca. To save them, Ivanhoe must embark upon a journey that will force him to confront his deepest fears, now transformed into a frightening and all-too-dangerous reality.

Falsely accused of a crime, Ivanhoe has only Rebecca to stand between him and his enemies, as Mordour tries cunning in his ongoing battle against the knight... with a little help from a specter mysteriously linked to Cedric's past.

Prince John is bored; he desires entertainment! Odo joins the circus, Rebecca and Ivanhoe polish-up their double act, and John, Falco, and company become the unsuspecting audience. The stage is set for the thrills, spills, and laughter when the Dark Knight seeks to free the mysterious "Goldenbird" from the clutches of the Rock Witch.

The forces of John race Ivanhoe to obtain the lost treasure of King Arthur, a lordly sum that could provide the wealth needed for Richard's ransom... but the bounty is guarded by a fire-breathing dragon.

"Death by Nightmare"... Only the blossom of a simple flower growing in a lost kingdom can save Rebecca from this dreadful fate. No human can penetrate the Elven domain and live to pick the flower, but without it Rebecca is doomed.

Mordour prepares to unleash the Apocalypse by trading a score of poor souls, including Rebecca's, for a powerful slayer of millions.
