Synopsis

Donna actually just wanted to have a nice little sex date, but her chosen man, Pascal, is a manfluencer for whom she is nothing more than another point in his 7-ONS-in-7-days challenge. Without her consent, he films her naked in bed and streams the whole thing. But Donna hits back, literally, by kicking Pascal in the groin on camera. The video goes viral, and with it Donna. At first it looks as if her life is destroyed. But Donna is not that easy to get down. With her best friend and roommate, Milou, she makes a video herself and strikes back against pick-up artist Pascal and all the toxic incels on the internet. She announces that she will have more followers than Pascal within a month - that's only a measly 1.5 million. BAD INFLUENCER is the German adaptation of the Dutch comedy series of the same name and gives the audience a revealing look behind the scenes of the glamorous world of influencers. The series is about how young people have to bend to be successful influencers.

He seizes his chance, becomes her manager and talks her into a collaboration with his only other client and current friend, the beauty influencer Care Ina. She promotes a toxic ideal of beauty and sells overpriced make-up products to underage girls. What could go wrong if the two meet?

Fame is taking its toll! Donna and Milou suddenly get a table in the trendy egg restaurant. Unfortunately, Donna is also becoming more and more of a target for Pascal's followers' anger. However, she is getting a little closer to her goal of pushing feminist issues on social media: she is hired as a brand ambassador for a supposedly feminist underwear and sex toy company. Everything seems to be going great for Donna. But then she starts to have doubts: is the company just exploiting her?

Pascal posts a video in which he claims that it was Donna herself who planned and approved the nude video after the one-night stand in order to become famous. Donna angrily grabs Milou and wants to confront him personally. Pascal is currently taking part in a 24-hour online game challenge. "Mumfluencer" and "tradwife" Pusteblume has a loyal fan base that believes in "traditional values". What she doesn't believe in: feminism. After Donna gets backlash for how toxic she was with Synthia, she corrects herself a little too much in the other direction and tries to prove herself as a "girl's girl" by cooperating with the conservative housewife. But she has completely different plans for Donna and is keeping a dark secret...

Rico has got Donna a gig at the Likehaus - a real influencer shared flat. Donna is very taken with the charming Likehaus resident Jamie and is ready for the party when a surprise guest arrives and the afternoon takes an unexpectedly painful turn for Donna.
