Synopsis
Before Elle Woods was a fish-out-of-water at Harvard, we meet her in 1995 in the tumultuous waters of high school where she encounters tricky friendships, forbidden romance, and questionable fashion choices. In this unexpected chapter of her adolescence, we learn about the experiences that shaped Elle into the iconic young woman we've come to know and love.

When the school bully threatens to spread a rumor about Elle's crush, Elle goes to great lengths to hide her true feelings until her attempts to stay under the radar are thwarted by an embarrassing fashion faux pas. Meanwhile, Elle's mom Eva throws a garden party and finds that her Bel-Air social skills don't quite translate in Seattle.

When Elle is inspired to organize her school's first-ever Homecoming, she experiences friction with her classmates until she learns to delegate and leave room for others to shine. After weeks of suspecting that there's corruption at the school, Elle and her friends get themselves thrown into weekend detention so they can search for proof. The group's close proximity heightens Elle's romantic tensions with her crush and exposes a past relationship that had been kept secret.

For once in their relationship, Elle and her mom Eva fail to see eye-to-eye on a tricky situation, which causes Elle to question her moral compass. Elle ultimately bets on her own instincts and rallies the student body to publicly expose a grave injustice. She thinks she's finally won over her classmates, but a past misstep resurfaces and threatens to ruin everything.

After Elle's reputation is damaged at school, she escapes to the comfort of Bel-Air. She enrolls in her dream internship and meets a personal hero but she realizes she has unfinished business in Seattle and must make a choice between two worlds she cares deeply about.
