Synopsis

Drama concerning a pair of female private detectives, Pearl Parker (Buki Armstrong) and Finn Gallagher (Rosie Rowell) operating within the bustling multicultural communities of South London. The series was renowned for affording opportunities to new talent, women and people of colour both in front of and behind the cameras.

Secretary Pearl Parker is tired of Fitz her boyfriend and boss cheating on her so she sets up surveillance to find evidence to catch him out. Without work, her driving instructor Dennis asks her to find his missing girlfriend Sheila. Together with her friend Finn, she starts to investigate

Pearl and Finn get their first case when lawyer Milly asks them to help Carol Jackson who is accused of stabbing her husband to death.

Pearl and Finn are put on a three month retainer by Milly's law firm Fraser-Millington. Mr Stiunayake's building is set on fire. Investigating, local councillor Paul Wilmot points them towards Walfrew Investments

Pearl and Finn come to the aid of Danny Taylor, who managed his daughters band Chaise L but who have now been signed by Tony Freasen. Danny is angry that his daughters alleged in the papers he mistreated them

John Foxton is a union leader involved in a mjor strike at a car plant. When he discovers funds have gone missing, he reaches out to Milly who puts Pearl and Finn on the case

Pearl and Finn are asked by Mr Cemel to retrieve his daughter's gold pendant which has been cheated off him. They steal it back but are forced to do a deal with the wife of the man who stole it in the first place
