Synopsis

A fantasy drama infused with music and horror fables based on the real story of the 'King and Jester', a cult Russian punk-rock band, enormously popular in the 1990-2000s. The show goes along the band's rocky road to success and tells the story of its polarizing-natured frontman Michael Gorshenev and his tragic death in 2013. Tricksters, evil spirits, noblemen, and other characters of the 'King and Jester' song verse make their way into the lives of Gorshenev and his bandmates.

A music band, which until recently played in small clubs, hold a big concert at "Jubilee Palace of Sports". The vocalist is haunted by an inner demon - Jester.
Ep. 2: Episode 2 (2023-03-02)

Gorshok and Knyaz are reminiscing how they firet met each other in college. At the concert in Yekaterinburg,a fan is beaten up by the police.

Gorshok is swayed by a new acquaintance, Anfisa. The band hires a director Sasha Gordeyev and tops the chart of the famous Russian Rock music radio station.
Ep. 4: Episode 4 (2023-03-16)

Gorshok is in rehab, Anfisa confesses she has AIDS. Different perspectives on art lead to an argument between Gorshok and Knyaz.
Ep. 5: Episode 5 (2023-03-23)

Gorshok’s friends and father save him from bandits in uniform. He falls in love with Olga, who supports him during hard time.

After the concert, Knyaz meets Agata, who claims he is not a punk. Frontmen argue over a girl and the future of the band.

Gorshok quits drinking. He is working on a musical “Sweeney Todd”, while Knyaz refuses, starting a project of his own.
