Ep. 1: Episode 1 (1998-08-31)

LING and MAY`s happy marriage is endangered with the intrusion of a competitor. One day, LING attempts to commit suicide and is sent to hospital. LAI gives her treatment. LAI firmly believes that MAY is not loyal to love affairs and is not a responsible man. MOON`s gay lover abandons him. He is so depressed that SUN and LAI lead him to have a drink to conciliate him. In the bar SUN meets her former lover CHU. She is not happy. HO wants to sue MAY and KWONG for their improper surgery eight years ago. MAY has to confront challenges in his marriage and career.
Ep. 2: Episode 2 (1998-09-01)

MAY is depressed as he is frustrated by his marriage. Though the trial has started, MAY still has the confidence that he can overcome the situation. At last the case is settled outside the court. In a armed robbery, one of the gangsters request a doctor so that his colleague can be cured. YU is instructed to shoulder this task. A woman hostage faints in the bank. TUNG has to show up to give assistance. As the thief has lost too much blood, YU persuades other thieves to surrender in order to save his life. At last, YU`s attempt is successful. MAY and LONG celebrate with CHING for her eighteenth birthday. CHING makes the wish that she can celebrate her next birthday. However there is no suitable marrow to cure her blood cancer. LING packs her luggage and decides to divorce MAY.
Ep. 3: Episode 3 (1998-09-02)

CHING accompanies several students to the hospital. They were hurt in a fire. CHING collapses and it is proven that cancer has spread in her body. MOON`s mother tries to bridge MOON and IVY. LAI tells her that MOON is a gay. This does not affect their friendship. KIN is lurked and is hurt seriously. His elder brother visits him but is not welcomed. This reminds YU that his brother was killed as his brother wanted to protect him. He convinces KIN to change his attitude. YU passes the department of pregnancy and sees TUNG there. Their mutual understanding deepens. CHING`s wish can be realized. However the donor changes his mind. LONG begs the doctor to tell her the donor`s information. LING blames MAY that he has terminated the insurance policy. LAI witnesses their quarrel and her misunderstanding of LAI worsens.
Ep. 4: Episode 4 (1998-09-03)

Finally LING gets KI`s address. However MAY follows her and she cannot convince him to give his marrow to CHING. MAY and the others go to a bar. YIP thinks that SUN is a prostitute and troubles are made. YU and YIP witness a traffic accident. When the four members were waiting for a tour lorry, a car driven by FUNG knocked them down. LIN`s mother and daughter were hurt seriously. YU tries to save them. YAN, who is a police inspector, is FUNG`s father. He wants to bribe YU and YIP. LAI gives YU a ride but they meet a traffic accident. LAI faints and is sent to hospital. LAI is frustrated as a tumour is found in her brain.
Ep. 5: Episode 5 (1998-09-04)

KI is impressed by the card drawn by CHING. He promises to give CHING a helping hand. All are excited. LAI does not want her family and boyfriend, who is imprisoned, to worry. Thus she does not tell them her condition. She plans to quit her job. She changes her mind as she is convinced by CHU and MAY after LAI has saved a girl who had nearly been suffocated by a ball. CHU and MAY meet SUN in the fitness centre. SUN nags at MAY. LING and MARTIN go to MAY’s house to get her belongings. Her rude and inconsiderate behaviour makes MAY know that divorce is unavoidable.
Ep. 6: Episode 6 (1998-09-07)

CHING recovers and goes home. YIP has parked his car in the forbidden area. He rushes to stop the policeman but he has no coins. Luckily HA helps him. He is impressed by her generous character. HOI suspects that PIK is not loyal to him and her baby is not his. PIK feels humiliated and commits suicide in the hospital. She also wants to get rid of the baby. YIP rushes to tell HOI that he has misunderstood PIK. At last PIK forgives HOI. MAY at last allows CHU and MOON to move into his house though he is reluctant to accept them. YAN is the PR in the karaoke restaurant. She is arrested by the police. CHU goes to the police station to help her. SUN witnesses the case. CHING is kidnapped and MAY worries. When the police want to arrest the gangsters, there is a gunfight. Two villains are killed and FAI is seriously hurt.
Ep. 7: Episode 7 (1998-09-08)

Though FAI is saved, he does not admit having kidnapped CHING. At last he is set free by the police. CHING`s corpse is discovered. MAY and her family are in deep grief. MAY is shocked. CHU and MOON show their concern to him. YU laughs at MA as he suspects that MA admires HA. HA tells YU that he is wrong. TUNG loses her confidence as she is not trusted by an old woman for her dialect as well as her being a student doctor. YU talks with her and releases her stress. FAI has brain cancer and MAY is instructed to do the surgery for him. LONG locks FAI up and trounces him. He is investigated by the police. LONG thinks that MAY is the only one to avenge CHING`s death.
Ep. 8: Episode 8 (1998-09-09)

MAY does his job smoothly and the others appreciate his professional obligation. In the pub, SUN and SING appear in front of them. However SUN and SING do not see them. MAN is a singer and when she visits her fans in the hospital, her nose bleeds continuously. A tumour is found in MAN`s brain. MAN refuses to have surgery as a scar will be left on her face. MAY knows that SING suffers from AIDS and he wants to warn SUN. However SUN ignores and scolds him. KAM becomes unconscious after taking CHUEN`s herbal medicine. He wants to sue CHUEN. When FAI is about to leave, he tells MAY that CHING was killed by him without regret. MAY is angry.
Ep. 9: Episode 9 (1998-09-10)

MAN has to stay in the hospital and the tumour is growing in size. For her career, she still refuses to have surgery. MING does not contact MAN and this makes her confused. MOON accompanies MAN to visit MING but in vain. LAI`s parents think that MOON is LAI`s boyfriend. MOON does not know what to do. When YIP and YU are to be charged of illegal parking, HA turns up and helps YIP again. YU is aware that YIP is attracted by HA. YAN has a tumour in her reproduction system. The police suspect that CHOW YUK MING is involved in a murdering case. YIP asks YAN to tell him MING`s information. MOON and LAI become good friends and MOON admires LAI.
Ep. 10: Episode 10 (1998-09-11)

MOON sends LAI flowers to court her. MAN insists on attending the rehearsal and MOON cannot stop her. A baby girl is drowned at home and she is sent to the intensive care unit. YIP finds that the CHUNGs had had two babies bit both died. YIP suspects that the baby was tortured. LING is pregnant and she begs MAY to conduction abortion for her. MAY refuses to do so. FAI is lurked by a mad man and at last dies. Mrs. CHUNG tries to kill her baby by removing the oxygen tube. Fortunately she is stopped and is arrested by the police. LI was rapped and run over by a car. She is on the brink of death. CHU is frustrated as he knew LI a few days ago. CHU is concern of LI.
Ep. 11: Episode 11 (1998-09-14)

LI recovers and she has to attend the court. It is a cruel fact as she has to recall the terrible memory in the trial. MAY and CHU are aware that MOON admires LAI. They suggest MOON to go to MAN`s concert with LAI. In the street LING falls down and feels stomachache. LAI sends her to the hospital. LAI thinks that MAY has urged LING to get rid of the baby intentionally. LAI looks down upon MAY. In the court, CHU admits that he has slept with LI. This does not favor LI. LING`s baby cannot be kept and she cries in front of MARTIN. LAI realizes that she has misunderstood MAY. LAI tells MOON that she has a boyfriend and has to refuse MOON`s love.
Ep. 12: Episode 12 (1998-09-15)

MAY apologizes that he has misunderstood SUN`s attitude to love affairs. KONG tells MOON and SUN that their mallow transplant was conducted by him. The driver who rapped LI is imprisoned. YU gets the model plane for JO but it is trashed by TUNG. The social worker tells others that HO is an orphan and he has AIDS. The plane was left by his mother. FUNG has to stay in the hospital. YU takes the record player left by HA`s husband to repair. PING throws away all the records unintentionally. HA cannot help crying as she loses all valuables left by her husband. YU holds a Christmas party with TUNG and HE for HO. At last HO dies peacefully.
Ep. 13: Episode 13 (1998-09-16)

MOON witnesses a traffic accident. CHING is locked in the car and bleeds seriously. MOON tries his best to save her. CHING at last is sent to hospital. LAI takes care of MOON. CHU reminds him to grasp the opportunity to court LAI. LAI`s dream comes true as KWONG is set free from the prison. She takes care of him wholeheartedly. PAU is sent to hospital as he suffers from heart attack. TUNG can recall his records. Unfavorable scandals are spread . TUNG admits in front of YU that she was looked after by PAU. YU cannot accept the news and TUNG is frustrated. LAI`s health worsens and the medicine will bring a lot of side-effects. LAI cannot make the decision.
Ep. 14: Episode 14 (1998-09-17)

LAI arranges a job for KWONG to work in a garage. However KWONG quits the job. LAI is disappointed. However he still respects KWONG`s decision. TAK`s liver deteriorates and is in a comatose. As Mrs. WONG`s liver is not healthy, she cannot give her liver to TAK. She worries much. YU`s prejudice on TUNG makes TUNG hard to confront him. KWAN has records in miscarriages and as her husband has died, she is nervous of her pregnancy. HA and TONG look after FUNG in the hospital. YU is impressed by HA. BILL is arrested by the police as he is drunken seriously. He is released on bail with SUN`s assistance. Outside a bar, SUN and MAY see BILL again. He has drunk too much wine. MAY recognizes that BILL is Mrs. WONG`s husband. She tells MAY and they go to find BILL together. MAY has changed her attitude towards SUN. In SUN`s house they are impressed by each other and they kiss wholeheartedly.
Ep. 15: Episode 15 (1998-09-18)

SUN changes her clothes and go to work. MAY makes consideration on their relationship. BILL`s liver cannot be transplanted to TAK as he has drunk too much wine. MAY and his friends go to launch. MAY takes care of SUN. TAK wants to see his father. Mrs. WONG begs MAY to make TAK`s dream come true. BILL brings a toy car to visit TAK. TAK at last dies. All are sad. KWAN has cancer and surgery can only be conducted after the removal of her baby. KWAN cannot accept the arrangement. MAY buys novels of love stories as SUN likes reading them. He plans to tell her the endings. LAI understands his intention. MOON and CHU break in when MAY is reading the novels. However SUN refuses to accept him.
Ep. 16: Episode 16 (1998-09-21)

MAY figures out that SUN has her idea in love and he is willing to accept her. KWAN secretly leaves the hospital. All are worried. YU is aware that HA cannot accept her boyfriend younger than her. He does not know how to change her mind and court her. KWONG wants to run a food stall. LAI decides to raise money for him. KWAN is sent to the hospital. YI persuades her to receive treatment. MAY wants to give LAI the money so that LAI can help KWONG. However LAI`s assistance is refused by KWONG. KWONG suggests LAI to find some others who are better than him. CHU sees YAN`s lighter and recalls YING. He is frustrated. KWONG fries noodles for MIU. LAI realizes what has happened between them and decides to leave.
Ep. 17: Episode 17 (1998-09-22)

YAN is arrested as she is a smuggler of soft drugs. She is released on bail with CHU`s assistance. The doctor decides to keep KWAN`s baby by removing it earlier than the expected day of delivery. Then she has the surgery. Luckily both are all right. YU hopes that he can go to the United Kingdom for the medical seminar so that he can enrich his knowledge. PING asks HA information of YU. HA knows her idea. LEUNG complaints that his father is ignored though his father has fever. In fact YU has to look after FAT who needs immediate treatment. HA bridges PING and YU. PING thinks that YU admires her and is excited. YU cannot go to the United Kingdom for his background. He is discontented. LEUNG`s father dies and LEUNG blames LEUNG. YAN is hurt and in a comatose. It seems that she has been raped. CHU feels guilty.
Ep. 18: Episode 18 (1998-09-23)

YAN does not want to get into the troubled water, so she refuses to accuse the criminal in court. She even leaves the hospital secretly and take refuge in CHI`s house. To flatter YIP, YAN promises to go to the court. SUN uses YAN`s pager records to accuse the suspect. CHING is involved in a murdering case in Mainland China. He wants to escape. YIP and the others lurk at the jetty. CHING escapes. Thinking that CHING has been hurt, CHI rushes to the hospital. There she meets TUNG, her former classmate. TUNG visits CHI and finds that she has fainted due to infectious disease. From YAN, SUN learns that CHU and YING, who is YAN`s elder sister, were lovers. She understands why CHU brings the lighter with him. The police keep an eye on CHI to get CHING.
Ep. 19: Episode 19 (1998-09-24)

CHI suffers from Hanta virus. She dies at last. CHING comes with a hostage so that he can see CHI. YIP arrests CHING. TUNG is separated for treatment as she may be infected by CHI. Both YU and YIP are surprised as they love HA. YU dates HA but HA tells him that she cannot accept him. CHING is also infected and he talks with TUNG before he dies. TUNG loses two good friends and is in deep grief. YU tries to calm her. BRIAN`s wife thinks that her marriage is spoiled by SUN. She slams SUNG in the street. CHU witnesses the incident. CHU and SUN want to change their life styles. CHU even asks SUN whether they have one night stand.
Ep. 20: Episode 20 (1998-09-25)

CHU meets his ex-girlfriend LAM. LAM has divorced her husband and has to look after her five-year old son BILLY. MAY and MOON take part in blood donation. They are suspicious as LAI does not give blood. HA refuses to accept YU`s love. She thinks that he is joking. YU is depressed. MAY`s nose bleeds and LAI checks his nose. MAY worries and LAI understands his feeling. She gives him support. LAM asks CHU whether he has dreamt of a woman delivering his baby. CHU finds her words strange and have hidden meanings. LAI suffers from her brain tumour. She cannot stand on her own feet. SUN knows that LAI has kept her illness as a secret. CHU and LAM bring BILLY to the beach, LAM is happy and hopes that CHU can turn back to her. MAY feels released as he only has nasosinusitis.
Ep. 21: Episode 21 (1998-09-28)

SUN encourages LAI to disclose her love in front of MAY. She should not be stopped by her brain tumour. HA also gathers sufficient courage to tell KUEN that YU is courting her instead of PING. PING is disappointed. HA is also confused. She asks YIP to convince YU to give up. LOK`s leg is broken and it has not been treated properly. It is also burnt seriously. It must be cut off. LAI is unwilling to see this happen. LAM gives CHU the hint that BILLY is his son. She hopes to reunite with him. She is disappointed as CHU tries to bridge PETER and her. LAI gives MAY two boxes of snacks and claims that she cannot finish them. This improves their relationship. LAM want to clarify whether CHU really wants to be BILLY`s father for her or for responsibility.
Ep. 22: Episode 22 (1998-09-29)

LAI buys snacks for MAY. MAY feels interesting as his boxes are always filled with snacks. FOK subsidizes LOK to buy an artificial limb. LOK prefers to use the money for his family. MOON is impressed by LOK`s behaviour. From YIP, MOON learns that CHING is a prostitute. In the blood donation, MOON`s blood is suspected of being infected by AIDS. MOON cannot take it. YUEN has to go to the hospital for physical therapy. LAM tells SUN that BILLY is CHU`s son. However she does not want to force CHU to stay with her for responsibility. Thus she keeps it as a secret. MOON refuses to be transferred to the department of brain surgery. The others worry. MOON dares not to tell the reason. LAM and BILLY go to Canada and terminate the relationship with CHU.
Ep. 23: Episode 23 (1998-09-30)

MOON is angry with CHING as he is infected by AIDS for her. LAI sees KWONG in the hospital. KWONG tells LAI that he loves CHING and CHING has unpleasant experience. MOON tells MAY and CHU his problem. They worry much. YU does not give up courting HA and HA is confused. MOON changes his attitude after knowing her background. KIT is hurt in a traffic accident. KI and her daughter rush to see him. They come across their former classmate YI. YI recalls her former romantic days with KIT. YIP always drives HA and YUEN to the hospital. YU thinks that he does not have any chance. YIP tries to bridge them.
Ep. 24: Episode 24 (1998-10-01)

PING has misunderstood HA and YU. She wants PING to forgive her. HA tries to bridge them. After CHOI`s death, YAN realizes that YIP is the only one she can rely on. YIP talks with her and calms her down. YAN does housework for YIP and hopes that this can pull them together. KIT has lung cancer. However he cannot get his compensation from the insurance company. He is in financial difficulties. MAY and his friends go launching. LING is also there and this makes LAI unhappy. After checking, it is found that KIT has been cheated. LING is involved. YI and LAI decide to ask SUN to sue the insurance company. LING is angry. CHU discovers that he and SUN were lovers ten years ago. This special feeling bring them together again.
Ep. 25: Episode 25 (1998-10-02)

PUI is hurt in a fight with her husband. Though the wound is all right, her pregnancy is improper. She has to receive surgery immediately. LING hopes that KI can give up the accusation. In the argument, MAY calms her down. LAI thinks that they still love each other. PUI`s surgery is a failure and she dies. TUNG thinks that she should be responsible for the accident. She is afraid that her career will be ruined. YIP wants to stay away from YAN and thus he dares not to go home. KIT is compensated outside the court. LING tells MAY that she has a new boyfriend JOHN. MAY worries as LING is so immature in dealing with love affairs. YAN is jealous of YIP who shows much concern to HA. She scolds HA. YIP orders YAN to apologize. CHU dates SUN and suggests that they can further develop their relationship. SUN accepts him…
Ep. 26: Episode 26 (1998-10-05)

SUN and CHU`s love blossoms and the others are happy for them. LING discusses with MAY on the matter of JOHN`s decision of emigration. SUN finds that they have a pleasant conversation and she reminds LAI that LAI should discloses her love of MAY. LAI wants to grasp MAY`s hand to show her love but in vain. She changes her mind as she is afraid that her brain tumour will spoil the love. LAI faints and MAY worries. He asks LAI for the reason. LAI`s condition is disclosed and her friends worry. Knowing that KWAN is not a loyal lover, YING tries to kill herself. KWAN blames YING that her foolish act will make him feel guilty forever. MAY does not know what to say as CHU also committed suicide for him. CHU brings his new lover to his home and SUN is depressed.
Ep. 27: Episode 27 (1998-10-06)

CHU hopes that his friends will forgive his cruel act to SUN. It is discovered that PUI`s death was not caused by TUNG. TUNG writes a love letter to YU but YU wants him to take it back. TUNG is embarrassed. YAN is suspected to be a murderer and YAN is unhappy as YIP does not trust her. MOON blames KWONG who has not visited CHING for a long time when she is still in the hospital. KWONG gives CHING`s diary to MOON. It states that CHING has been admiring KWONG. CHING cannot face KWONG and wants to leave the hospital though she has not recovered. On the way, she faints. MOON is nervous. He grasps her hand and tells her that he has been her admirer. When CHING wakes up, she is impressed and the seed of love germinates in their hearts. CHU appears in front of SUN as usual. LAI is confused.
Ep. 28: Episode 28 (1998-10-07)

SUN has forgiven CHU. TUNG knows that HA has been attracted by YU. She reminds HA that HA should respect love. YAN is involved in a case of drugs smuggling. SUN helps her. Knowing that their love will not bear any fruit, CHING decides to put an end to her life. KWONG and MOON are in deep grief. MAY tells LAI that he regards her as his good friend. He suggests LAI to have treatment as early as possible. LAI quits her job and goes out with her parents. She tells them her situation and they are shocked. LAI leaves MAY a letter and goes away. MAY suspects that LAI will commit suicide.
Ep. 29: Episode 29 (1998-10-08)

As YU understands the dilemma that YU and HA have to face, HA feels relieved. She prepares to accept YU. However YU decides to leave so as to reduce HA`s psychological burden. TUNG tries to bridge them and manages to do so. Though YAN ignores YIP, YIP finds that he loves her. YIP tells YAN his feeling. SUN tells MAY where LAI is and tells him that he should not hide his love of her. LAI decides to drive the yacht to the Philippines. MAY rushes to the pier but cannot find her. He is depressed. LAI has to come back as there is a thunderstorm. MAY discloses his love and LAI is touched. They leave together.
Ep. 30: Episode 30 (1998-10-09)

SUN finds CHU`s lighter. Without the lighter, YING`s image appears in CHU`s mind. LAI thinks that LING still loves MAY and she has brain tumour. She does not know whether it is correct to accept MAY`s love. MAY loses his wedding ring and he tells LAI that his relationship with LING has come to an end. Suddenly LAI loses her self-control. MAY knows that her condition is very bad. LAI tells him that she treasures every minute with him and she does not want the treatment to shorten the happy time. At last MAY manages to convince her to take the treatment. The surgery will be shouldered by MAY. SUN asks CHU to get the lighter back but he does not turn up. SUN feels strange. CHU has gone out with YAN to meet some drugs smugglers. In chaos CHU is shot and he sees YING.
Ep. 31: Episode 31 (1998-10-12)

SUN calls CHU and YAN answers it. She tells SUN why CHU was hurt. LAI and YU are shocked to see CHU being hurt so seriously. MAY removes the bullet from CHU`s brain. SUN worries so much that she cannot go to sleep. She realizes how important CHU is in her mind. The operation is successful. CHU tells SUN that when he is on the brink of death, he recalls YING. SUN is upset. CHUEN tells LAI that he carries the diary as he is afraid of having the brain disease like his father. Unfortunately, KAI gets it first. LAI hopes that she can see the rainbow. She is happy as MAY stays with her before her possible death. MAY feels nervous as his lover`s life is in his hand.
Ep. 32: Episode 32 (1998-10-13)

MAY must finish a section of the operation within fifteen minutes but in vain. Though he can removes the abnormal vein, LAI is still in a comatose. MAY loses his self-control. CHUEN and WA blame MAY having pushed LAI to receive the operation. YAN persuades CHU to give up blaming himself for YING`s death. He should accept SUN. CHU buys a new lighter and tells SUN that he will light cigarettes for SUN with it. SUN is touched. LAI wakes up and MAY is excited. However it is only a dream. MAY feels hopeless but he has the courage again as there is a rainbow. He urges LAI to wake up and see it but in vain. He can only tell LAI stories beside her bed.
