I Dream of Jeannie

Synopsis

While on a mission, American astronaut Captain Tony Nelson is forced to make an emergency landing that will forever change his life. On a deserted South Pacific island, Captain Nelson happens upon a bottle containing a beautiful two-thousand-year-old female genie named Jeannie. Rescuing her from the bottle nets Tony the requisite three wishes, and then some, when Jeannie pledges total devotion to her new "master".

Ep. 1: I Dream of Jeannie: 15 Years Later (1985-10-20)

Jeannie has been a happily married housewife for 15 years to her astronaut husband Tony Nelson and has a teenage son, T.J. When Tony is promoted to Colonel and is about to retire from the NASA space program, Jeannie decides to give him a celebration party in their backyard. However, egged on by his colleagues to retire with a dramatic flair, Tony breaks his promise to Jeannie for one more space flight.
Ep. 2: I Still Dream of Jeannie (1991-10-20)

Col. Nelson is on a long-term, top-secret space mission. Jeannie cannot bring him home, temporarily, to hear their son's important academic presentation without knowing exactly where he is in the first place. The general in charge of the mission won't reveal anything. Things are further complicated when Jeannie's sister, Jeannie II, reminds Sham-Ir, the head of the genies, that a genie on Earth cannot go more than 3 months without an earthly master. Sham-Ir gives Jeannie a fortnight to either find Tony or get a new master, a single male. Colonel Healey can't help, since he's now married.

When Tony opens the bottle, he is shocked to find a beautiful, 2,000-year-old genie named Jeannie, who is now calling him her new Master and willing to grant him anything he wishes.
