Night Man (1997)
Synopsis
Night Man is an American action/adventure/sci-fi series that aired in syndication from September 15, 1997 to May 17, 1999. The series is loosely based on a comic book published by Malibu Comics and was created by Steve Englehart and developed for television by Glen A. Larson. It stars Matt McColm as the title character, a superhero whose real name was Johnny Domino, a saxophonist. Englehart would write three episodes of the series. Night Man is also one of the few series to cross over with characters from Larson's previous series: in the episode "Manimal", Johnny allies with Professor Jonathan Chase, the star of the short-lived 1980s' series Manimal.

A criminal who has the power to start earthquakes demands that Bay City pay him millions of dollars,or he will release an earthquake to destroy Bay City once and for all.At the same time a crroked doctor is robbing a little girl of her life by illegally selling organs for profit,and she needs a kidney transplant in order to live.To make matters more serious,Bay City is completely evacuated over the earthquake threat with the exception of Johnny and Raleigh.They work together to locate the criminal and stop the threat of the earthquakes

A druglord that needs a new heart has his group hold a party of wealthy folks hostage in order to find a new donor, who ends up being Frank Dominus. NightMan has to get rid of a bomb that the group has placed in the building, then track down the druglord, his group, and their victim.

Ep. 5: Still of the Night
A beast from another dimension has been brought to ours to serve as a high tech government project. When the beast gets loose, it begins infecting innocent people including Frank Dominus, and the only cure for this deadly infection is the blood of the beast itself. Johnny has to done the Nightman suit to track down the beast, while fighting for his own life since he's been affected as well.

Ep. 6: Face to Face
E Haskell Bridges breaks out of prison after having a face makeover that allows him to shift his face into anyones he wants. His ultimate plot after reunting with his beautiful but evil galpal Samantha is to get revenge on Frank Dominus and Lt. Charlie Dann for putting him away. He goes to ""The House of Soul"" and gasolines the hall, igniting a fire that nearly kills Jessica Rodgers. Nightman saves her, then comes face to face with Bridges. Though Nightman suspects Bridges to be dead after he plummets him into the ocean, he's still alive, lounging on a beach somewhere with his galpal and waiting to return and get his revenge.

Joran,one of the many that was struck by the same lightning that Johnny himself was struck by,has been gifted with two powers.One,he is given teleknesis,able to move things with his mind and Two,Joran is able to steal talent and resources from anyone he wants and their abilities as well at the moment of the persons death.He steals power from several of the cosmic receipents,stealing their powers,and growing ever stronger...and Johnny is next on the list.

Petra, a Russian assassin that gave up that life and loyalty for the old Soviet Union after a blotched assassination attempt caused an innocent boy to get shot, finds herself once again forced into working for the other side when Stepov, the leader of the Russian mafia in San Fransico, California, holds her sister Lara captive, only promising her freedom if Petra assassinates Police Chief Ludlow during a costume ball. Joran enlists the help of a fellow "star child", Rachael, who is able to hypnotize people with the power of her will to do her bidding to help him kill Johnny and assume his power. They both follow Johnny and friends to a ski resort where Johnny is set to play to play with a famous musician,Woody Gillis. Joran uses to Rachael as a deterrent to distract Johnny from who he really is and who his friends are,turning him into a detestable person. The battle reaches it's climax where Joran leads Nightman to the top of a mountain known as "Devil's Run" for a showdown, hand to hand With Johnny's friends trapped in a car under an avalanche that Joran caused,and time running out, Nightman ultimately fights Joran over the top of the mountain, and Joran falls to his death.

Ep. 18: Bad to the Bone
E. Haskell Bridges is back and this time he is going after Johnny. He uses a device to knock Johnny out and assumes his face and proceeds to kill several and leave behind evidence that Johnny is the killer. Johnny not believing that he is a killer consults with Dr. Walton, who can't find anything wrong. Bridges with Johnny's face is approached by Raleigh, who shows him the Nightman suit which he takes after knocking Raleigh out. Johnny bumps into Bridges' female accomplice and starts to get visions from her of Bridges; she was about to zap him when Johnny grabs and locks her up. Johnny finds Raleigh unconscious and discovers that Bridges got the suit but Johnny has another suit which he puts on and goes after him. They battle in the air and Bridges falls to his death... or does he?

Chang is back and hires the help of several under sea divers to help find the weapon that Nightman tossed into the ocean in their first meeting. At the same time Chang traps Johnny in a repeating dream scenario through subliminal suggestion to keep Johnny of his trail to give himself more time to find the weapon, and rebuild it.

Ep. 22: Amazing Grace
After a convenience store robbery results in a murder of Johnny's friend Buddy (which Johnny was unable to stop) Johnny begins to loose faith that he and "Nightman" are actually doing any good to relieve Bay City of evil. It takes a little bit of divine intervention from above to convince Johnny to that he is actually doing more good that he thinks... and not give up the Nightman suit!
