Triple Nine

Synopsis

Triple Nine is an English language television police procedural telecast on what was then the Television Corporation of Singapore's Channel 5 from 1995 to 1999. The station's earliest attempt in an action-based drama series, it revolved around the lives of a group of police officers, namely Inspector Mike Chin, Inspector Elaine Tay, and Sergeant Alan Leong from the Special Investigation Section of the Criminal Investigation Department. The cast changed in subsequent seasons, notably with the inclusion of Inspector Sean Han, Inspector Herbert de Souza, and Sergeant Yeo Lay Kim from the third season, and Sergeant Sarah Chan from the 4th season. Season 2 was written by Amos Kwok. The first season was also dubbed into Chinese and aired on Channel 8 in 1996.

However, instead of cooperating with the police she is persuaded by a dominant sister to remain silent and avoid the shame of adverse publicity. Inspector Tay and Corporal Halim are up against time to nail the culprit before another girl gets raped.

Before inspector Chin and Sergent Leong can solve the case of a missing nine-year-old boy, an eight-year-old girl is abducted. The puzzle: there's no motive or demand for ransom and no bodies are found.

A convict comes out of prison only to put into action what he has plotted for the past 15 years. His target, a slow and painful death for Sergent Alan Leong with Alan's teenage daughter Cindy as bait. Either Inspector Mike Chin solves the case soon or someone dies.
Ep. 9: A Long Wait A Slow Kill (1995-02-26)

A convict comes out of prison only to put into action what he has plotted for the past 15 years. His target: a slow and painful death for Sergeant Alan Leong. He cunningly uses Alan's teenage daughter Cindy as bait. Either Inspector Mike Chin solve the case real quick or someone dies.
Ep. 10: Babies For Sale (1995-03-05)

Greedy midwives and ex-nurses are involved in a baby-for-sale racket. Inspector Mike Chin and Sergeant Leong are no way near cracking the syndicate until a baby dies...
Ep. 11: Spellbound (1995-03-12)

Inspector Mike Chin's mother loses her savings after being hypnotised. It appears there's a syndicate involved but Mike and Sergeant Leong do not have sufficient evidence to arrest them.
Ep. 12: Skin Deep (1995-03-19)

Christina, an ex-SIA girl, kills a beautician because she believes the latter had scarred her. What's worse, she feels she's losing her sugar daddy to another woman. Can Inspector Mike Chin and Sergeant Leong nab her in time before she commits Singapore's most gruesome crime of passion?
Ep. 13: Hell For Elaine (1995-03-26)

Poor Inspector Elaine Tay is suspended after shooting a girl in a raid to wipe out a teenage gang. And she's got nothing to back up her self-defence. Inspector Mike Chin and Sergeant Leong set out to find the gang. But the question remains: will the gang tell the truth.
