Synopsis
The story takes place in Yeung Lo Wai, a remote village in the New Territories of Hong Kong. Yu Meijun (Su Xingxuan), who lived in the same house for four generations, lived a peaceful and peaceful life with her husband, daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law. Ep. 1: Episode 1
During YU MEI KWAN's 71-years-old birthday, YANG NING KUNG gave her a 'Dragon Head Stick' and encouraged her to practise the 'Yang's Family Stick Stance. Her sons and daughters-in-law congratulated on KWAN's birthday. Meanwhile, the YANG's four men were summoned to help the villagers. They by chance knew that the bandit, TSANG GUN HUAN, had hidden himself in the pigsty. In order to keep the secret, HUAN killed them. The celebration then became a funeral. For the next three years, the YANG's women lead by KWAN are obliged to live in honest poverty. They are in mourning. They live independently and isolate themselves in the ancestral home. YING is the only one who does all housework. Others like Mui only know how to enjoy life. Thus, YING is respected by the whole family. LING tidies her old photo albums. The photo excites her feeling. She cries loud in LIN's arm. The mourning period is over. YANG WAI sells the YANG's main house……

Ep. 2: Episode 2
YING fights against KI. KI is defeated. They then go to the police station. TAl BO even accuses KI that he wants to frame her up. YING is more dissatisfied with KI. Conflict again arises between the two. KI is very diligent and serious. He performs well in the police station. His superior has recommended him to apply for the post of inspector. However, KI does not follow the traditional way in handling things. Thus, his superior worries a lot for him. The YANG's family is very angry with HEI's evil deed. They question him with anger. KWAN knows HEI well and thinks that he must have a good excuse. She persuades the YANG's ladies to be calm and allow him to explain. The YANG's ladies meet KAM SAl MAN in TAl LONG's restaurant. They hear that he hopes his father died in his early age so that he can succeed to be the leader of the village. The triad supports him. He collects money from the weak and also has some illegal secret dealing……

Ep. 3: Episode 3
HEI has ruined his future. He regrets for what he has done. He moves into the YANG's family and works for them. Financial crisis arises in the YANG's family. The YANG's ladies cannot support their own living. KWAN decides to keep a pig farm. However, they are inexperience in keeping pigs which makes a lot of fun. MAN leads the villagers to place some rubbish in front of the YANG's house. LING is very angry and complains to the police station. She by chance meets the sergeant, KIN FAI. She finds that FAI is similar to her ex-husband. She cannot help to germinate special feeling on him. FAI will retire very soon. Thus, he wants to have peace and keeps himself safe. He fears the strength of the RAM village. He cannot do what he wants. He is also not familiar with their customs and environment. The villagers always complain him. LING is very dissatisfied with him and the two become enemies. There is a bomb in the YANG's pig farm……

KI gets into disputes with the YANG's family when he is catching the thieves. KI and YING misunderstand each other more. LONG sympathizes the YANG's family. He helps the YANG family indirectly through HEI. YING receives a letter from the police and asks her to provide them more information. She is happy to do that. When the inspector asks her about the death of the four YANG's male, she tells him the truth angrily. YING by chance knows that she has applied for the post of a policewoman. She is in a dilemma. Later, she finds that she can succeed his ex-husband's wish and receive a high income. With their encouragement, she agrees to join the police force. MUI is aware of her detective talent; she also joins the police force secretly. YING and MUI are having a strict training. MUI is lazy at home. Thus, it is difficult for her to tolerate.

When YING is living in the police school, the YANG's family is like a mess. It is because YING is the only one to do the housework. In order not to affect YING's mood, KWAN conceals the truth from YING. MUI despises the school regulation. She always breaks the rules. Fortunately, YING remedies her fault. KAI FAT discovers the case and scolds YING. YING explains. FAT appreciates her. YING wants to give up the career in police and returns home to do the housework. However, KWAN rejects because she wants to restore the reputation of YANG's family. Therefore, she urges YING to continue the training. YING wants to give up her police training and backs to the YANG's family doing the housework. KWAN forces YING to continue the training as the priority is to restore the YANG's family. KA MING wants to write an essay and backs to Hong Kong to collect more information. He interviews the oldest man in the village……

YING does not want to follow MUI's step. She minds her own duty and keeps good discipline. She does not want to make her family feel disappointed. However, she does not have a sense of direction and always makes mistakes during training. MING has an interview with KWAN. KWAN receives favours as with fear. She pretends to be austere and solemn. There is a lot of fun during the interview. LING does not know how to play mahjong but she is lucky and wins money. She then addicts herself to mahjong playing. One night, a swindler cheats her money. FAI witnesses the case. He even jeers at her. HING has a trip. KI has known that HING's airline has a flight accident. He thinks that HING is on that flight. He is very upset. In fact, HING has already transferred to another airline. She blames KI who does not concern about her all along. KWAN knows that they have owned LONG money. She then assigns LIN to work in LING's food shop……

LING is still sexy and attractive; therefore, she is always welcome by the male in the villagers. FAI is one of the villagers who admire LING. However, LING is not affected by him. YING eventually graduates from the police training school after six months. She is also an outstanding police cadet. KWAN is proud of YING. YING aims to work for her own villager. However, she is assigned to watch the important district, Mongkok, because of her good academic performance. YING is arranged to work with KI. Misunderstandings always arise between the two. She affirms that KI is an indecent guy. She has a bad impression on him. The relation between the two is worsened than before. MAN spends lavishly. However, he never gives money to FA. FA saves her own money and asks LONG to help her sending her family money secretly. One day, LIN meets LONG and FA who are doing something trickily. She thinks that they have an affair……

LING is maltreated by the rascals. Fortunately, FAI helps her to get rid of them. LING appreciates him who is kind and gentle. LIN misunderstands that LONG is a lewd person. She always keeps away from him. It makes LONG very embarrassed. Later, LIN knows the truth and begins to accept him. KI discloses that YING has a birthmark in her arm when he gives testimony in court so as to accuse the suspect. YING cannot forgive KI. KI finds YING very silly and conservative. It further worsens their relation. KUAN's three younger, LOK, GUM and SIU follow his elder brother's way and go to Hong Kong. They even help KUAN to escape away from prison. KI and PAK are ordered to catch KUAN. YING also has known that KUAN was escaped away from prison. She is very angry. She is also ordered by KWAN to arrest this rascal.

Ep. 9: Episode 9
KI knows KUAN's trace. By the time he wants to arrest him, he finds that he has caught HING as the hostage. KI hesitates. YING arrives and has a hard fight with KUAN, LOK, GUM and SIU. KUAN's brothers are all dead but KUAN can flee away. He even shoots KI. YING feels sorry for KI who is hurt because of her. Thus, she is willing to take care him. MUI goes to search for KUAN's trace. She meets MEI and decides to work as an amah in an amusement centre. She even lives in MING's home. KI is hurt and the relation between HING and KI is worse than before. They eventually separate from each other. KI feels very irritated. In order to console KI, YING pretends that she is HING and claims that she will stay with him. However, KI sees through the plot. YING is very embarrassed. She leaves KI unhappily. It is the first time YING tastes frustration. She is very disappointed. Fortunately, FAT encourages her and makes her feel better.

Ep. 10: Episode 10
With DIANA's influence, YING is aware that she is too conservative. She tries some new things but finds it is a torture. FA is very greedy. When she has known that the YANG's family has a precious jade, she cheats LING and seizes the jade. LING dares not to revolt against her. In order to relieve KI's pressure, KI's superior assigns KI to station at the YANG's village. KI is very downcast as he has just separated with HING. He is not enthusiastic in handling the cases in the village. YING is more dissatisfied with him. LING fears that they will find out that the jade was lost, she then leaves a false message and claims that the jade was stolen by a famous female thief ‘Black Rose'. KWAN does not believe and misunderstands that it was stolen by YING CHI. She then wants to punish her. LING is reluctant to see CHI to be the scapegoat. She discloses the truth.

The YANG's ladies want to help LING. They burst into FA's place to capture the jade. They quarrel at the beginning and have a hard fight in the end. They even make the police alert. KI is assigned to suppress the disturbance. KI sees through FA and MAN's artful device. He plots to make them unveil their real face. He accuses them of cheating in revenge for the YANG's family. KWAN changes her attitude towards KI. YING understands KI more. She finds that he is not fooling around. She is more gentle and kind to KI. FAI carelessly leaves his cop gun in the toilet. He is very nervous. KI helps him to get back the gun. Misunderstanding is removed between FAI and KI. They become good friends. HEI does not want to sit at home and doing nothing. He decides to work in a Herbal Medicine Shop. YING passes by KI's apartment and finds that there is gas leakage. She bursts into his apartment and rescues him……

LING stays in the Mahjong Playing Shop and is addicted to mahjong playing as she always wins. Later, YING discovers and asks her to repent. LING eventually repents and decides to live anew. KI eventually knows that YING is the one who gave him artificial respiration. He feels very unease. He wants to thank her but YING always avoids him. The YANG's family is dissatisfied with HING's behaviour. They boycott her and instigate KI to cast her aside. KI refuses. KI has a chance to thank YING. YING accepts his thanks. Later, KWAN witnesses the situation and misunderstands that they have an affair. It was spread over the village. They are difficult to get at the truth. KWAN is very angry. KI uses all his money to buy a ring for HING and proposes to marry her. Unexpectedly, HING claims that she has already known a new boyfriend and elopes with the new guy. KI again suffers a great blow……

Ep. 13: Episode 13
KI drowns care in wine at the top of the house. He is very drunk and nearly hurts himself. Fortunately, YING passes by and rescues him. YING even comforts him. They eventually reconcile. YEUNG CHUNG and YANG NING were KWAN's admirers in the past. CHUNG is defeated by NING. CHUNG still loves KWAN after so many years. However, KWAN does not want to spoil her reputation and wants to keep herself virtue. Thus, she dies faithfully to the YANG's family. KWAN always misunderstands YING and KI do have an affair. Thus, she ignores YING. Later, the YANG ladies speak for YING and explain the truth. KWAN eventually reconciles with YING. LING applies for a driving license in order to earn a living. Once LING disguises as a male and helps the villagers to transport the domestic fowls. She encounters an accident. Fortunately, FAI helps her in the spot. The relation between the two is getting better. KI and YING get a lot of chance to meet……

YING and KI disclose that MAN has protected the illegal casino. They want to charge them but have no evidence. LONG finds that LIN is always bullied by MAN and is very angry. He is willing to give unmitigated punishment for offenders, even if blood relation. He helps YING and KI to arrest MAN. Since he has established merit in the YANG's village and then is being elected to be the village headman. FAI is feeling sick. He goes to see a doctor and finds that he has suffered from a fatal disease. He is very sad. LING by chance meets FAI. She sympathizes him. In fact, FAI had met a young girl, SUET SIN, many years ago. He had separated from her in confusion. FAI misses her all along. He even places advertisement for thirty years to find her but is in vain. LING tries her best to help him finding SIN. FAI eventually meets SIN again and finds that his good dream has been shattered. He suffers a great blow……

Since FAI has known that he is suffered from the fatal disease, he changes his working attitude. He is very positive and brave. LING comforts him. The relation between them has improved tremendously. LING wants FAI to be happy for the rest of his days. She pays SIN to pretend that she is in love with FAI in order to fulfil his dream. KI is assigned to work in the urban district again. Though he is reluctant to be apart from the villagers, he accepts the transfer for the sake of having better prospect. FAI knows that he is not suffered from any fatal disease. However, he does not want to lose the concern and care, thus, he does not tell them the truth. When they discover the truth, they blame FAI. MUI finds that MING is very troublesome. They quarrel with each other. Later, she knows the owner's son of an amusement centre, HOI KWAI. She finds that he is very mandom and blossoms love feeling in him.

KI is ordered to investigate the case related to young girls being cheated. YING and MUI try to help but they create confusion instead. KWAI wants to help at the beginning but retreats in the end. MUI is dissatisfied with him who is only brave on the surface. KWAN points out that MUI lies that she studies computer in the urban district. In fact, she only works in the amusement centre. KWAN wants to punish her. MUI pretends that she has lost her memory and hopes that the family members will sympathize her. Unexpectedly, LING takes the opportunity to torture her which forces MUI to admit her wrong deeds. KI and YING have more contact and get to understand each other more. When KI wants to express his love to YING, he alerts FAT to make a move first. KWAN thinks that MUI will be more mature and serious after married, thus, she tries to find a man for MUI. She mistakenly matches LONG to MUI……

MEI is cheated by YI and is in great debt. She meets HEI again and asks him for help. HEI does not refuse her and tries his best to procure money. HEI is very lucky. He can easily procure enough amount of money and repay all debt for MEI. He even has one million surplus to compensate the YANG's family. MEI feels very touched. She determines to reform herself and asks the YANG's family to forgive her. MUI is reluctant to marry. She devises to refuse. Later, she finds that MING has eloped with her good friend. She is very upset. KWAN feels ashamed of MUI who has rejected the proposed marriage. She tries to conceal the case. KI eventually tells YING that he does love her. YING is shocked. She keeps away from KI instead. KI is sad.

YING dares not to accept KI because she has promised KWAN that she will not accept any other man. However, she also falls in love with KI. She is in a dilemma. MAN is imprisoned. FA has no money and asks LONG for help. LIN fears that LONG would have been cheated by others. She stops him. Later, LIN eventually understands FA's situation after LING's explanation. She sympathizes her. The relation between LONG and LIN cannot have further development with the presence of KWAN. They only meet each other secretly. One day, MUI finds that they are having secret meeting and wants to tell KWAN the case. Later, she is affected with LONG's sincerity and promises to keep the secret. MUI meets MING and knows that MING only wants to test MUI's heart. Unexpectedly, MUI is not jealous at all. MING is very disappointed. He decides to separate from MUI. MUI is reluctant to be apart from MING……

During YING's birthday, someone has sent her a pizza. There is a time? bomb inside the pizza box. Fortunately, KI is shrewd enough to move the bomb and helps the YANG's family escape from danger. KI asks YING to marry him during the confusion. YING does not to promise him. MUI picks a photo in the village and finds that she is resemble to the one in the photo. The photo was shot in Shan Tao. She feels strange and goes out to find the trace of the one in the photo. It becomes the hot-line in the village. KI knows that there must be something wrong. He knows that the one in the photo is HUAN's ex-wife after investigation. He also knows that his wife was killed by the police during his first robbery in Hong Kong. Thus, HUAN hates the police force a lot. KI infers that the bomb is related to HUAN. KI sets a plot to arrest HUAN. However, HUAN eventually escapes away and catches MUI as the hostage.

HUAN bursts into the YANG's family with MUI as the hostage. He uses the safety of YANG's family in exchange for his escape. MUI pretends to be his ex?-wife in the hope that he will surrender but is in vain. HUAN knows that he can hardly escape away. He decides to die together with the YANG's family. The YANG's ladies discuss the way in confronting against HUAN. They want to escape away from the house and let the police in. However, HUAN destroys their plan. Ultimately, KWAN suppresses HUAN with her Dragon Head Stick. YING is crashed vehemently during the confusion. She is then lost her memory temporarily. Her character has changed a lot. They worry a lot for YING. Could YING be recovered and recall her memory? How is the development between KI and YING? How is the fate of the YANG's ladies?
