Miner Nathan Mallstrom finds The Teather, an ancient artifact that links Earth and Dark Earth, and unwittingly brings demons to Earth. Summer Vale and Bulo arrive to save the day, but are left with more questions than answers.

Cornered by the demon Rosemary, Nathan is aided by Davidath who has brought with him The Trankartak, an ancient black sword. The weapon arrives just in time as Summer is put to the test.
