Biography
Joseph Marc Salas (he/him) is a host, theater actor, and student filmmaker from Cagayan de Oro City. He is currently pursuing a degree in AB Communication at the University of Santo Tomas. But prior to being based in Manila, he studied for a year at the University of San Carlos in Cebu City. Being on the writer and director’s chair for more than six years, Joseph has helmed student short films, including ‘My Dearly Love’ (2020) and ‘On My 18th’ (2023). In 2025, he directed two documentaries that confront timely sociopolitical issues: ‘Beyond The Headlines’, which explores the state of the Philippine press media and journalism, and ‘For Better Or For Worse?’, which delves into the ongoing debate on the legalization of divorce in the country. Joseph is currently the Chief Production Officer of the Thomasian Film Society, the premier film organization of UST. He co-wrote and directed the Christmas-themed drama, 'Nakauwi Na', in 2025.
