Biography
Leszek Mech (who used the pseudonym Lesław Królicz) was a Polish screenwriter of animated films, poet and prose writer, journalist. A long-time collaborator (from 1962) at the Animated Film Studio in Bielsko-Biała, he served as the Studio's literary director from 1962 to 1971; he co-wrote the scripts for approximately 300 animated films, including the Bolek and Lolek series, as well as animated feature films (The Great Journey of Bolek and Lolek, The Adventures of the Blue Knight). He also worked in the editorial offices of the weekly "Kronika" in Bielsko and the daily "Trybuna Śląska" in Katowice. Together with Władysław Nehrebecki, he was the co-author of a series of children's books entitled The Library of the Adventures of Bolek and Lolek.
