Biography
Cris Lyra is a filmmaker and cinematographer based in São Paulo, Brazil. She has worked as a cinematographer on short films, TV series, and four feature films: Chão (Landless) by Camila Freitas, which premiered at the 69th Berlinale (2019); Lembro Mais Dos Corvos (I Remember the Crows) by Gustavo Vinagre, winner of Best Film at the 40th Cinéma du Réel (2018) and IndieLisboa (2018); and Para'I by Vinicius Toro, screened at the Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival (2018), FICG (Guadalajara), and Cartagena (in competition). In 2015, she directed Um Homem Satisfeito (A Happy Man) with Bruno Cucio. Quebramar (2019) is her second short film; it won awards at festivals in Brazil and abroad, including Best Documentary at Clermont-Ferrand in 2020.
