Biography
Gretchen German is a Canadian-born American actress with a prolific career in television and film, spanning over three decades. She is best remembered by Seinfeld fans as Donna in the classic episode "The Phone Message," where she played Jerry’s girlfriend whose fondness for a specific pair of pants (and their commercials) caused a comedic rift. Within the Star Trek franchise, she delivered a memorable performance as Rebecca Sullivan, the wife of Michael Eddington, in the Deep Space Nine episode "Blaze of Glory." Her extensive television resume includes guest-starring roles on a wide array of iconic series, such as Murder, She Wrote, Matlock, Coach, Star Trek: Voyager, Home Improvement, and more recently, Modern Family. In addition to her television work, German appeared in feature films like the 1991 comedy The Marrying Man and the thriller Double Obsession. A veteran of the Los Angeles acting community, she has been married to fellow actor James DiStefano since 1995.
