Force Five (1975)
Synopsis
Facing a severe crime wave, the police form a top-secret undercover unit. The squad consists of ex-convicts on parole who are blackmailed and recruited for their specific criminal skill sets (including a conman, a burglar, a wheelman/car thief, and a disgraced former cop). If they succeed, their sentences will be wiped clean. Led by a reluctant police lieutenant the unit investigates a vicious mob beating. The victim is a star basketball player who was beaten by a crime syndicate after refusing to "throw" a game. While the ex-con unit tries to solve the crime and catch the mobsters, the basketball player's vengeful father tracks the case independently, plotting his own violent retribution.
