Synopsis

The film presents the mechanics of levers in an educational manner, using examples drawn from both the human body (such as neck and elbow movements) and everyday objects—like scissors, tweezers, and sewing machines—as well as larger-scale equipment such as cranes, boats, and transport carts. By establishing connections between these various applications, the short film highlights the presence of this mechanism across different spheres of life and work. In doing so, Humberto Mauro not only illustrates a physics concept but also explores the potential of cinema itself as a pedagogical tool: through editing, he brings together seemingly distinct objects and gestures to reveal shared technical principles, demonstrating how moving images can make visible the phenomena that structure our daily experience.
