Synopsis

The history and evolution of the Círio de Nazaré procession in Belém do Pará. After two hundred years, it now gathers more than one million people each year, who come to fulfill difficult vows and undertake rigorous acts of penance, such as pulling the rope attached to the carriage that carries the saint.
