Synopsis
The women’s colonial school on the Kiel Canal offers a diverse range of practical training, including typewriting, bookkeeping, gardening, farm work, and handicrafts. Students engage in workshops for metal and woodwork, welding, masonry, and upholstery. They also participate in horse riding and shooting training. In Reel 02, students perform household tasks like cooking, laundry, and cheese-making. The “Windhuk” house provides training for tropical farming, emphasizing self-management and financial skills. Additional training includes first aid, disease recognition, and water treatment. The reel concludes with students waving to sailors from a German warship entering the canal.
